Remembering the master of soulful blues on the anniversary of his birth. It's a shame about Ray, but it happens to us all eventually.

As much as I've admired the work of Ray Charles ( I own a lot of it ), my only memory of seeing him live is a bit of a disappointment. Many years ago I paid good money to see him in concert. His show started 45 minutes late, and he played for exactly 35 minutes. No explanation; he just got up and left after 35 minutes. I thought the audience was going to riot.

Remembering the legendary Ray Charles on his birthday.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.
