Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Ray Charles

    PeterBlues — 19 years ago(June 25, 2006 02:24 PM)

the dumbest thing is that the artist ray are singing with, are american idol kids who wasnt known when ray made this material. (the duet voices was put on years later on.)
and i don't pay attention to what the kids are singing, becouse they seem so focused on their voices and singing,
that it don't reach out, like, ray was screaming and shouting, and whatever he felt, it came right from the heart.
and it seems like most artist today focus so much on themselfs and their voices to sound perfectly, that they lose the whole song,
then there is a female artist who ruins track 8, becouse she starts to laugh unapropriate in the middle of the song.
that cd would have been great, AWESOME, if it was ray himself. without putting other turkeys voices on.
Rosemary, when i hear your voice begin to talk,
church bells starts to ring in my heart,
    hip little Josephine,
you're about the hottest thing i ever have seen,
colorfull Lucette, you sure put some dirty thoughts in my head, dear,
you spark like the top in a freshly pured glass of beer,
    sweet sporty sunshine Yvette,
i haven't seen another girl top your cuteness yet,
    Colleen,
you're tastefull like a hot pot of beans,
and that chick over there.. what's her name?
anyway, you sure put my soul in flames,
    Paulinne, Pauline,
i can't puzzle your pieces togheter it seems,
    Christine, Christine,
i've been inlove with you since i was in my early teens,
    Madeleine,
you glow weather it's sunshine or rain,
lady Kay, stands as tall as a star in the sky,
you sure turn me on, but i'm not gonna say why
tall firey red headed lady, man, where has she been so long?
you sure put some salt and peppar on my bowl of popcorn,
    spicy smiley little Melissa,
i will knock down anybody who dares to diss her,
    boosty exotic Ritza,
you sure put some pepporoni on my pizza,
you know, i can't continue with this song,
there are so many women down this hall, that the song would be just too long!
diana, miss maria, joan, tina, nurse susie, gymnast johanna, alice, jenny, elisabeth.. mmm.. mm.. m

which album is that? I dont recall is it "Genius loves company"? Yeah, I think it did ruin Charles' mystique but it brought a younger audience to his fan base.

"He's the one he can do it."- Ray Charles on Jamie Foxx playing him
