Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Michael Cole

Just saw Michael on a late night commercial for MeTv. Michael looked great except for wearing dark shades. I hope he is ok. I have to avoid bright lights due to macular degeneration

he looks like he never left the series. Like he's stuck in the past. He's 75. let it go,man. Cut the hair. nothing personal but he looks like a derelict.

I wasn't allowed to watch TV as a kid so I missed Mod Squad then, but watching it now I can tell he wouldn't age well. He doesn't have strong bone structure (cheekbones, jawline) and has kind of a fleshy face. Those features may be fine when you're young but when you're older, not so much. Plus, the purported alcohol abuse. Doesn't surprise me he didn't age well.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to put the guy down but he comes across like one of those child actors who never "grew" up.

if you saw the commercial, you would think so. He looks like a derelict. You would never thought he was a celebrity at all.

                  Hey,
MIchael Cole still thinks he's an A-lister from his hey day. Michael Cole is just another footnote of one hit wonder actors who disappear after one hit show. Most of those types were mediocore and lived off their good looks. Once the looks wore off and they didn't have talent to begin with, they faded like old news. Good thing METV got smart and took The Mod Squad off its schedule.

That was a rather hurtful take on Mr. Cole. I found him to be very humble and approachable. And it should be mentioned that a self chosen moniker of "onestar" speaks volumesPlease.

                        Onestar dude,
No fantasy here; just an impression. No hugs or photo op, it was actually a chance encounter on a fishing trip. Perhaps he is a phony, and your take is more accurate than mine. Perhaps. But honestly you sound a bit jaded on Hollywood types in general. I prefer to give the man the benefit of the doubt. You are welcome to your opinion, but being hurtful for the sake of doing so is unnecessary. Peace.
