I have been a fan of your great-uncle for quite a number of years. He was one great entertainer who was taken from us too soon. From the smooth hits like "You Send Me" to the rockers like "Shake," he was great. I have been especially interested in him since I found out that he died the very day (month, day, AND year) I was born. -

Then you have a true connection! He was an amazing artist, to say the least. Those two songs, like most of his major hits, were songs he wrote. "Shake," "It's Got the Whole World Shakin'," and "Yeah, Man" (which Arthur Conley had to admit in court he stole and turned into "Sweet Soul Music") were all written by Sam and exhibited a new direction he planned for Soul music.

Hello. Its an honor to have someone on here thats related to Sam Cooke. He was truly a wonderful performer and song writer. I don't think you know this maybe you do but Sam was one of Rod Stewart's idols and biggest influences. He never got to see him live and regrets it. He covered Sam's versions of Twisting the Night Away and You Send Me. They're great cover versions.

Thank you for writing this book about Sam.
Regarding one situation in particular, I was baffled after I read that Tracey nearly drowned in the same pool Vincent had drowned in within the following year.5b4
I have yet to think of a signature. When I finally do, I'll include it. -

There are a lot of things like that I found interesting and chose to put them in the bookstories that are relevant but have never been told. Sam's saga was much more complex than an artist who made a few pop tunes. He changed music history, and the way he left us needed to be brought to light as well.

I just wanted to point out that if you go on YouTube right now and do a search for Sam Cooke "A Change is Gonna Come", you will see hundreds of comments posted in reference to this song and the great victory for Barack Obama last evening! This song has been an inspiration for many people from many walks of life, and I believe that Sam's song can finally ring true! God Bless America!
