Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Bradley Cooper

    NateParkerIsARapist — 9 years ago(November 26, 2016 09:49 PM)

I was watching Bradley Cooper on a weekly basis when he was on Alias with Jennifer Garner and Michael Vartan and I NEVER imagined Bradley Cooper was going to be some huge breakout star a few years later.
I don't get it still. I mean Bradley Cooper is kind of cute in an unconventional emu type of way but I still don't understand why he is this giant A-list star now. He isn't THAT hot and while he is a good actor he isn't phenomenal or anymore talented than Garner or Vartan.
It seemed to all start with him getting cast in The HangoverI wonder if he auditioned on "The Casting Couch" to get that role??? That is the only thing that makes sense to me.

I'm sure not all successful actors start out on a casting couch. He does have lots of connections. That can open so many doors alone.

I never said all or even most do. I just don't see how HE was considered handsome enough or talented enough to be given a big career defining role like that without the casting couch though.

He slept his way to the A-list. That's what they do in Hollyweird. Lol

            Nate:
THE HANGOVER was an unexpected breakout hit that nobody thought would be the box office success it becamethat's how Cooper finally got bigplus he'd been acting for years before that. He may not be your definition of handsome (I think he is, in an unconventional way) but he damn sure is talented. There's a little horror film he did back in the day called MY LITTLE EYE in which he played a surprisingly good role, and he was unknown when he made it, but even back then, he was good. Plus he's shown over the last few years that he usually kills it in dramatic roles, too. And that's also because he was stage-trained as an actor during his early years, and usually stage-trained actors are some of the best actors around, period. So that explains why he's bighe pretty much earned his own way in the acting field and paid his dues.

But lately he seems to have taken a few steps backwards! Just shows his romancing side of his life and that's getting old! He's 42, time to decide something! I don't think this pregnancy was planned out to well! He wants to keep his leading man status! May not be able to! This has been handled badly!
To bad, because he is a really good actor!

So because he's an A-lister, he shouldn't have a partner and a family life? Where is the logic?

I never said he shouldn't have a family or have his own life! He's just handling it badly! I want him to be happy! But he needs to find someone who loves him. She acts like she can't stand him! Now the secrets about the pregnancy are weird>it's almost like they enjoy playing the cat and mouse game. ! Yes I know he's private! But even that's handle badly. They call the paps when they go out. They want the publicity but yet they complain of the lack of privacy! They need to make up their minds on what they want! They choose this life style, so it all goes in the packaged deal!
Other stars handle their private life's a lot more professional then Mr BC! He needs to figure out what he needs to do and be true to himself!
If it's with a woman who truly loves him or if he's gay with the man of his dreams, either way I wish him the best!

He can act well enough to put on a good show. That seems to have attracted him some attention.

And to add, he also has a Master's in Fine Arts. How many people even have high school diplomas in theater (that was a joke, but kind of playing on the fact that there is still a high percentage of kids in the U.S. that dropout of high school)?
THERE IS NOTHING TO FEAR. COLLEGE FOOTBALL IS HERE!!!
