The Rape Scene in A Clockwork Orange - Feelings?

I actually think the fact that he is singing "Singin' in the Rain" makes the rape scene that much more disturbing and darkly erotic. Movie makers are trying this more and more in movies by putting sounds and music behind horrifying scenes trying to evoke a strange emotion from the audience. For me, the reaction is shock and wonder and the inability to look away from whatever the image is. Rob Zombie did this in House of 1000 Corpses when the police visit the Firefly's house and get a lovely surprise.
The eroticism of the scene comes from Kubrick's extreme camera angles and how he only shows us a little so we the audience can assume what is happening. We only see the rape victim writhing and reacting to everything and for some, this is an EXTREME turn on. Most people will never admit if they are turned o5b4n by this strange act of violent sex. It's very taboo.

Being powerless in the hands of Alex and such a great stripping, controlled and so erotic. I can imagine exactly what comes next and it is such a turn on. I could imagine acting it out too. Wow! -

This might be a little personnal but my wife and I use to reenact this scene all the time when we first met. It's not quite the same though. I might be a wierdo because of it but let us not pretend that we never thought of doing it.

Not meaning to be too nosy, but since you brought it up, did you have a couple of male friends, uh, assist in acting out the scene?
And I imagine all that trashed, sliced-up clothing would get expensive after a while.

An additional question for the members of the board - does the fact that Alex has an audience - Mr. Alexander, watching impotently as Adrienne is stripped and taken in front of him - affect our perceptions of both her and of the scene itself?

the stripping scene is not convincing at all: Mrs Alexander hardly struggles at all [a real rape victim would put up a violent struggle, even against a gang] and in fact she even 'assists' Alex by practically stepping out of the trousers section he is cutting to help him get her naked!
She's also conveniently naked underneath: not likely at all.
Thankfully I've never witnessed a real rape [and don't want to, but I see plenty of women stripping willingly in the privacy of their homes] but I doubt if an actual rape would look anything like anything depicted anywhere in this film. -

Adrienne Corri was around 40 years old when that scene was filmed! I think she looked good for a woman of that age and if I didn't know her age I would've thought she was 30.
She's also conveniently naked underneath: not likely at all.
The film is set in the future and was filmed in the early 70's, after the sexual revolution of the late 60's. Maybe Kubrick thought in the future some women may not bother wearing underwear. Turns out he wasn't completely wrong as that's what happens these days. Plus that woman was in the privacy of her own home. For all we know Mrs Alexander could spend her days naked most of the time.
I doubt if an actual rape would look anything like anything depicted anywhere in this film.
Why single out the rape? There are numerous scenes that are nothing like it would be in real life. For example speeding in their car, their Droog language (Brits wouldn't be influenced by Russian), the music store looks unrealistic - Vinyl is not popular, the milk bar, the cat owner, etc. -

One thing I personally like about this scene, and what also make the whole this haunting situation strange - is that the guy who grabs Mrs. Alexander throws her up over his shoulder and carries her around. The way he touches her and hold her body, his hands near her ass (I myself whould have loved to play that part, carry a gorgeous lady in red around for a whole day), is OTT.
I can't imagine this sort of "dance" whould have occured in a real pre-rape situation.
Also - I have read here that some couples have been acting out this scene, just the two of them and that makes me wonder: how can one guy act this scene out alone? -

She's incredibly hot, so is the girl from the first rape scene with dark hair. In my opinion, the scene is much hotter. 'Cause you get to see the girls' buxom boobs swinging as well as her top-notch boob and ass.
