David Coverdale was always my second favourite Deep Purple singer and one of my three favourite heavy metal singers, others being Ian Gillan and Ronnie James Dio. I think he should have got more success than he did, I mean, he did have some success in the 80's, but what about later?? He seems to have been forgotten nowadays. Anyways, he is a proof that singers can also be good songwriters (not just in the lyrics department) and good old Davy has given us some classics in his days, my favourite being "Northwinds". Here's to you Dave!

I guess you are right there. I didnt like the whole image change towards glam rock or hair metal even in the late 80's. I don't get him, he was a goodlooking guy, why did he have to adopt that horrid hairstyle??
