I was just talking with a friend about this today. I randomly decided to YouTube the phone call from The Constant and started crying during it, and found out my friend had done the same today. We were talking about how magnetic an actor Ian is, and how he especially brings Desmond to life in such an amazing way that you're excited for even a moment's screen time. But when the writers give him a whole episode and really let him do his thing, he's just mind-blowing.
I haven't seen a performance this year that I though compared to Ian's.

Easily hands down the best episode of the entire series. And thats saying quite a bit since there are some really good ones. I mean, the transitions between time, the part with him freaking out on the chopper, screaming "I'm not supposed to be here", ah all great stuff. Plus the huge foreshadow of more Faraday interaction with the ending. It was one of the only episodes that I ended up watching again after the first time.
Im not getting him a f@#!ing bagel! -

definately one of my absolute faves this one, but season 4 i felt was pretty much emotional all through it. But yeah, love this episode so much and Des is one of the best characters on this show.

Now, long since the shows finished, this episode still stands out as one of the best in the whole series. Is it wrong I became more invested in desmonds story than any of the oceanic passengers?
