I noticed he used an alias "Victoria Sloan" for Curse of the Puppet Master, and it looks like he's done it quite often anybody knows w5b4hy? Thanks in advance!

Possibly because the work is below average and wants to protect his reputation, or he likes to be credited with girl names.

Because he doesn't want to be connected to the film (usually because its crap and he's doing it for the paycheck).
Notice he tends to keep his name on it if he co-wrote the story.

The real reason is the fact that film buyers wouldn't know all these films are made by the same director. Not because he would have a reputation to protect.
