Lots of talk on here that the doctors SHOULD be sued. Anyone know if they WERE?
It DOES seem fairly unusual, in this day and age, in the US, for someone THAT young to die of pneumonia.

As a doctor, I can attest that pneumonia is a larger cause of death than the layperson seems to be aware of. There are different forms and causes of pneumonia (bacterial vs viral; drug related; rare forms like atypical bilateral pneumonia that I actually developed after getting the flu when I was 17; AIDS related pneumonia; pneumonia caused by other illness that cause the person to decrease their activity; aspiration pneumonia; MRSA strains; the list goes on). If you want to see the variety of strains, just search the word "pneumococcal" in any search engine.
FYI- There is no medication available to treat Viral forms of pneumonia, (or viral forms of almost all illnesses) as a virus is neither alive nor dead, but relies on hijacking host cells and injecting their material into these cells to reproduce. Viral illnesses are treated before one contracts them, that is why inoculations are important for children, and boosters for the rest of us. Bacterial illnesses can be treated with antibiotics (literally meaning "anti-life"), but those who contract or develop MRSA related strains have very few, and high side effect, medications to help them.

Why would you sue the doctors, did they give her pneumonia? How stupid but suing always seems to be the answer for so many people. You get sick, you die. Happens every day all over the world.

I only asked as in the bio section it mentioned that she had died of pneumonia AFTER two doctors had allegedly misdiagnosed her.
