Okay, so those who are recommending suing - you have seen her medical charts? You know what she complained of, know what the chest x-rays look like, know what the lab results show, know what the doctors diagnosed her with and what they prescribed for her5b4. Okay, well, if you have seen all of that and have the medical expertise to determine they screwed up - go ahead, push for them to sue. Otherwise, maybe you should let those who know more about it decide. I have known of young people who were ill and refused to go to the doctor until they were very ill. The doctor told the young man to get to the hospital immediately and even offered to have an ambulance transport him. The guy knew he was young and didn't think it would be that serious. It was over 8 hrs later before he showed up at an ER. He was there less than thirty minutes when he coded and died.
Also, those talking about the lawsuit limitations. Do you realize that if we don't make these limitations that we won't have any drs left. They are being charged around $80,000 a year in Malpractice Insurance, some even more than that, depending on their specialty. I am fairly split on how I feel about it though. I understand in our society that it is becoming a necessity because of the millions of frivilous lawsuits, but on the other hand, if a doctor truly screws up (i.e. leaving the scissors in a patients abdomen after surgery) they deserve to sue and recieve large amounts of money. The judges need a little more sense and medical knowledge and throw out more of these frivilous lawsuits. -

This pisses me off, too. She was a good actress and will forever be remembered for the volleyball scene.
My question is how in the hell does a 30 year old woman die of pneumonia in this day and age???!!!!! Explain that one to me!

Ok, you all need to settle the beep down.
First, yes. It's sad that she died. It's sad that she was a young b68and beautiful talented woman who died. Really, it is.
Now who's the beep idiot that thinks doctors, nurses, the whole lot, is full of crap? Are you joking you retard? Chances are that one of those "morons" saved a family member's life. Do you know the kind of crap they go through every day. sometimes working over 20 hours a day, no sleep, and they get beep from people like you calling them idiots and morons?
It's really sad that she died ok. I don't want to hear that "the world has been robbed of one of the greatest actresses ever" and "i was a big fan". beep dude, you didn't even know it was her until you read the little blurb on CNN that said she was the girl in Meet the Parents that got hit in the nose with a volleyball(Funny shiznit though, I'll tell ya).
Grow up. People die in this day and age and can't be brought back. One of your comments about how "somebody so young could die of THAT in this century is blasphemy" is like saying "somebody going down to borders to actually buy a cd is blasphemy". Pull your head out of your ass. -

The hospital really should be sued so they are even less prepared for emergencies. Let's give get the people who we depend on to live even madder. And they still go and save us. These guys are great. Sure doctors aren't perfect but come on: "Judge not lest ye be judged". I know it's from the bible, but it works in everyday life. The truth is that you'll forget this in a couple of weeks. It just really makes me angry that a celebrity has to have a problem for it to become important. Thousands of children die every day and society doesn't think twice. But when some girl who was in a scene in a bad (save DeNiro and Stiller) movie, dies it's a tragedy. It all comes back to the quote. Give a damn yourself before you accuse a caring professional of not doing so.

Agreed!!! It's scary that any medical professional would be so stupid as to misdiagnose a potentially deadly illness such as pneumonia. You all have a great idea. Nicole DeHuff's family should sue for malpractice.
