Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Hugh Dillon

    Kenster1991 — 16 years ago(July 27, 2009 08:49 AM)

I was recently looking at pictures of him right now, and when he was in Headstones. I have to say his face has changed a lot, and his nose especially has changed. Is this because he has had plastic surgery, or is it just him having lost weight, or is it part of his aging and growing old. He is such a great singer and great actor.
I am just wondering this though?

Hugh gained a lot of weight at one point after he kicked heroin. Once you're over 35 or 40, when you lose weight, your skin no longer has the youthful elasticity to shrink back; it gets a little "loose." When he lost all that weight later, I think it made his face look a lot thinner and more gaunt.
Also, if he was going to have plastic surgery, I think he would have had his wrinkles and stuff removed. He hasn't, which you can certainly see from Durham County Season 2 (now being broadcast in Canada on The Movie Network). He's got crows feet (at the outer corners of the eyes), and a tiny bit of a wattle (under the chin).
To my knowledge and based on the pictures I've seen of him he's totally natural, has not done a thing except shave his head, lose a lot of weight, and age.
To me, his nose hasn't changed at all. It's the same nose as in Hard Core Logo it's just thinner.
I miss his music. But he has turned out to be a really good actor. So that's cool. And sexy, which is an added bonus.

I should start by stating that I feel really bizarre talking about an artists physical appearance, but I believe he got his teeth fixed. Veneers (or dentures?) something.
However he looks, he is quintessentially a fantastic artist.

He's not an artist, you steaming butt-wad, he's an actor.

I believe musicians are referred to as artists, which he is, in addition to being a songwriter and actor.
Nice personality on you rams_lakers. Have to result to name calling and insults on message boards to make yourself feel good?
Incidentally, Hugh has had no plastic surgery done, but did have veneers put on a few years ago.

Actually, Hugh Dillon is not only an actor; he is also a singer, a songwriter and a musician (and I understand he paints as well, though I cannot vouch for this particular talent). My sincere apologies for grouping these disciplines together under the umbrella of Artist.
Art has many forms and I implore you to not consider yourself to be the judge of what art is or should be; whichever generation welcomed you into this world. Art first and foremost requires an open mind. Its truly subjective. And it doesnt seem to be your forte.
                  As an FIY:
                  artist (r t st)
                  n.

                  1. One, such as a painter, sculptor, or writer, who is able by virtue of imagination and talent or skill to create works of aesthetic value, especially in the fine arts.
                  2. A person whose work shows exceptional creative ability or skill: You are an artist in the kitchen.
                  3. One, such as an actor or singer, who works in the performing arts.
rams_lakers : your profile suggests you havent liked anything made in the last few decades and are longing for a bygone era.
You write my generation is the best. Fine. Whatever. Well give you that - so long as you promise not to come bother us on our discussion boards with your mediocre writing b68and name calling - which are usually attributed to 9 year olds and not someone of your generation.
Comparing a stranger to feces? Seriously?! Where is the moral intellect you seem to consider yourself a master of?
Message boards exist to converse on subjects, not attack and offer insignificant pablum.
I truly hope you find solace in the remembrance of the days of yore. Hoping that your Betamax can still play your old tapes.
Thank you for wasting our time.
                    Cheers!
