Banning isn’t enough, you need a buy back program and throw all the guns into liquid magma (Terminator 2).
Next you need metal detectors on every building and make it automatic death penalty if you get caught owning one.
Finally, we must set up concentration camps for gun nuts. The gas chambers will take care of those who love the 2nd amendment. -

notice how these shootings happen in environments where people aren't expected to be able to protect themselves.

Because normally, people who go on shooting sprees are known wierdos who nobody likes. These people dont normally have any friends, let alone contacts in the underworld
I cant speak for illegal gun dealers, but i imagine their normal clients are drugs dealers and the like, they may not want to risk selling a gun to a dead eyed thousand yard stare teenager, because if that gun goes on to kill multiple kids you will be in deep ****, deeper than if the gun is used to kill a drug dealer.
I mean either way if you illegally sell a gun that kills a person, you are in deep ****, but you MAY see the light of day again at some point. If it kills kids then that is off the table. ( I assume )
what I am trying to say is, the average school shooter may struggle to get a gun illegally, yet could probably get one legally….oh the irony…
