Because the truth is that whether you like yours glazed, iced or fat-free, LA has little else to offer but celebrities. And theres only one lofty thought on locals minds this week: meeting William and Kate.
Its astonishing how starstruck the whole showbiz community is by them both Kate in particular, laughs actress Alice Evans, a British expat bemused by royal mania. The wedding was the most talked-about event on US TV in a long time, and ever since theres been a whole new star system in place, with real British royalty ranking well above Hollywood royalty.

Must have been desperate if they're taking quotes from AE. No one knows who she is, but then they have quotes from other unknowns. More famous people probably don't wnt to say anything.
Hmmm, wonder of they'll pop for 50K pounds for that dinner? Perhaps now that Ioan is doing Ringer. -

More than 100 shoes donated by leading Welsh women will be exhibited and auctioned at the National Eisteddfod in Wrexham during the first week of August to raise money for a charitable cause.
Names such as Cerys Matthews, Alex Jones, actress and wife of Ioan Gruffudd Alice Evans, TV weathergirl Sin Lloyd, TV presenters Angharad Mair and Heledd Cynwal, literary giants Mererid Hopwood, Angharad Price and Bethan Gwanas and several politicians and artists are supporting the Sodlau'n Siarad (Stories From The Sole) appeal organised by Merched y Wawr, the National Eisteddfod of Wales and Save the Children.
Their celebrity shoes will be exhibited during the Eisteddfod week with Eisteddfod-goers given the opportunity to bid for them during the week and at a live auction held in the Literary Pavilion on the Eisteddfod Maes on Thursday, August 4 at 5pm.'
