Simply stunning!
I also only knew her from her later work, but the pictures of her in her younger daysshe was breathtakingly beautiful!
Love the picture of her and Bette Davis together from Dark Victory. Very glamorous!
Wish actresses today could be so glamorous! Today, it's all about how much skin you show. -

And talented, too. She was uncomfortably brilliant in "Wuthering Heights" and gave a tremendous performance in a little-known 40s film called "Three Strangers", which costarred Lorre and Greenstreet. That one's particularly well-worth seeking out; it's a bit of a lost classic, kinda noirish, very dark and haunting.
I always thought that Geraldine was THE actress who should have played Jane Eyre. She had such character and integrity and passion. Sigh. -

She was quite pretty and had a unique presence, a twinkle in her eye like she was the only one in on a joke, in her earlier films. "Arthur" is the only later work of hers that I'm familiar with and was surprised she was only 67 or so when this was filmed. I assume she was made up to look older than she was - and told to act like that as well?

She had a sexy voice, too.

I'm watching The Strange Affair Of Uncle Harry at the moment.
She was breath-taking. I love the shot in Wuthering Heights where she is in her bedroom gazing at her three reflections with her hair down.
A very sensuous voice also that was prominent in her early work. -

She was just gorgeous, and one of the most underrated, forgotten beauties of the late '30s and '40s. Loved her in "Dark Victory" and "Wuthering Heights".

I agree that Geraldine was absolutely stunning, though -at least for me- Bette was stunning as well, just another kind of beauty, an unconventional one.

Wow I'd never seen her in her younger days. She was beautiful!
I thought she was an attractive older woman too (although her long teeth were a little intimidating haha), but she was a stunner.
I'd not seen any of her work prior to the '80s. Such as "Poltergeist II" & "The Golden Girls".
"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."
