I could not believe during the 78th Annual Academy Awards show that Mrs. Geraldine Fitzgerald was left out of the annual In Memoriam tribute. She was a past Oscar nominated actress for W16d0uthering Heights and a supporting star of countless screen classic features. Such a disgusting way to leave her out of the annual touching tribute. Not only was Fitzgerald mysteriously missing, but so was another past Oscar nominated actress and a supporting screen legend also, Ruth Hussey. Sad.

I've never even seen a Geralidne Fitzgerald movie and I'm indignant. I too was bothered by the fact that they overlooked Ruth Hussey.

Yes I too loved Ruth Hussey, aside from her Oscar nominated performance in The Philadephia Story, Hussey was also the very last surviving member of the cast of that classic film that was still alive until she passed away.
Fitzgerald on the other hand was nominated for an Oscar for her role in Wuthering Heights and a few times she played a key supporting role along side Bette Davis. Her other notable films included 'Arthur' with Dudley Moore and Liza Minnelli. -

Also Virginia Mayo. I too was struck by their omissions and wonder where I might register that complaint! Any ideas? Fitzgerald is great - check out "Three Strangers" with Greenstreet and Lorre and "Uncle Harry" with George Sanders. At least those and several others.

Yes Virginia Mayo was featured at the 77th Academy Awards, she was actually the second to the last person featured during the In Memoriam segment, I seem to remember that she came right before Marlon Brando, and of course sadly Virginia got a little bit of recongization from the audience, but the audience went wild when Marlon was featured.

Virginia Mayo was included in the Memoriam of the 77th Annual Academy Awards.
However, Geraldine Fitzgerald passed away in 2005 and was NOT included in the Memoriam of this past year's 78th Annual Academy Awards show. I have it on tape and the list to prove it.
