Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Will Forte

    highlandpercussion — 12 years ago(February 22, 2014 09:06 PM)

Mr. Forte was one of few National Board of Review Awards attendees to give fans their time (understandably, as it was freezing cold that night in January). As he approached us, I commented that I used to see him as Macgruber, but after seeing Nebraska will identify him as David Grant. He laughed, and said that he loves both characters and could never choose one over the other himself. I weakly commented "it's an apples and oranges comparison", but my voice tapered off. I tried to say something else, but was cut off by someone wanting an autograph.
I thought that was that, but before leaving he approached me saying "I'm sorry, did you want to ask me something; I thought I heard you say something else before." I replied "No, I just wanted to wish you a nice ev1c84ening." He smiled, shook my hand and said "Thank you, I really appreciate that," then filed inside with other attendees.

After skimming your first paragraph I figured "yeah sure, nice guy, nice celeb" etc. But I was happily surprised when I read your second. That's crazy nice for ANY person to do, let alone a celebrity that is always getting attention from people. I love Will Forte that much more, so thanks for that. Truly awesome he's not a beep

Forte always kindb68a comes across that way in interviews that i've seen. Thanks for sharing the story. He really is a great guy and, i feel, an underrated talent. I'm glad to see him get a role like Nebraska. Hopefully he gets more of those!

In the past I saw some people post about going to see SNL live and meeting some cast members after and they always said Will Forte was the nicest of all the SNL cast they met. Have always heard nothing but good things whenever I read about people meeting him.

He does always seem lovely, unapologetically nice in interviews I've seen. Everything he says always seems well considered, self deprecating and he NEVER says anything negative. Amazing.
