It was an attepmt to prove he was a fake. It worked. I think it was his tonight show (carson), when he said He "wasn't feeling the power". The tonight show wouldn't let his assistants touch the spoons b4 he saw them. Thus disabling him to break them with ease. Uri got pissed & filed a lawsuit.

His psychic and mental abilities have been tested by NASA and the united states military, all confirming he's the real thing. He isn't a fraud, that's why he's been around for so long with little controversy surrounding him. I saw him live and he got old watches working again brought in by members of the audience and promotes anyone who sees him to bring some along. He's also a remarkably nice man too. To quote david blaine 'I'm just an entertainer, Uri is the real thing'.

Anybody who still believes that the charlatan Uri Geller possesses 'psychic' powers should read James Randi's excellent expose of Geller's trickery "The Truth About Uri Geller", which is available from Amazon.com. -

Waityou saw him live, and that proves he's not a fake? Lumley, my friend, you are a sucker. Of course his live presentations are successfulthey're carefully planned!
The reason Geller has had only a min16d0imal amount of controversy is that a)he sticks with what works (bending spoons and other lame parlor tricks) and b)his powers, fake as they are, are more profitable and interesting to the media than reports that have SOUNDLY disproved him. -

Anybody remember seeing Gellar on Noels House party getting a Gotcha? You clearly saw him bending spoons with his hands. He of course says that he knew he was being filmed. I remember laughing so hard at his pathetic protestations. Can't believe the guy still has believers.
Oh, I remember him on a 'psychic' show getting people to guess which shape he was thinking of out of a circle, square, a triangle or a multipointed star. "Focus and let your eyes be attracted to the one that stands out" There was a phone poll and strangely more people chose the star. Spooky Have no idea at aaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllll how he did that. Magic exists!
Meh to you, Uri Gellar, you big fraud.

He's a big fake. And if he's such a great psychic, why the hell couldn't he foresee he was going to lose the lawsuit he filed trying to get the first house Elvis bought his family? I not a psychic and I knew that was gonna happen - you don't make an offer, have it accepted and then try to completely change the original deal and get away with it, unless the sellers are agreeable. And there are plenty of web sites (some listed on other posts on the Geller comments like this) where you can find out just exactly how they pull their spoonbending and other tricks. Old watches start working? Take one that's not working and shake it around a bit, let it get warmed up from the heat of holding it in your hand and it'll probably start working. Not for long, but enough for Geller to say "My psychic powers have made this16d0 broken watch start working again!"
