THANK YOU to all who have expressed undying love and profound admiration for me and for Alien Nation. (Did I say that out loud? Wellthanks for liking the show!) As for workingyou were right, I've been working more now than at any time in recent memory. Many of the projects are in post-production, some are shorts I do for friends cuz they ask me and I can't seem to say no, and others are projects I'm either editing or writing and/or directing myself that are in various stages of development. As for acting work I'm scheduled to shoot a new series filming in Vancouver, B.C. in March called ALIVE! (go to www.falconrockcommand.com to learn about this disturbing new project.) I'm also on as a co-producer so please spread the word about it. A bit of a departure for me, it will be chilling fun. Plus, don't know if any of you kn16d0ow that I wrote a book! It's been getting pretty cool reviewsand it's on my website, www.garygraham.com
Check it outand thanks for your friendship!

Alien Nation started out quite interesting (Sikes even had Cagney's apartment from Cagney & Lacey), but they went too far into the culture of Tenctonese. They were supposed to be genetically engineered slave labourers. Suddenly they have a home planet and ancient musical instruments.
The show worked best when dealing with the obvious parallels of the aliens being the new minority group in the area. One of the early scenes featured Sikes defusing a situation at a school. The parents wouldn't let the alien child into the school, one of the most vocal protesters was a black guy saying that he didn't want their kind in the school.
Gary Graham was always good. Loved the opening credits of him freaking out in his car. I never saw any of the follow-up tv-movies so never found out what happened with his female alien neighbour. -

I read this reply and had to say, "WOW", seeing it was YOU responding on this site! I was an Alien Nation Fan. It was fun, and I loved some of the names of the Aliens, as well as some of the whacky screw up phrases (George saying he couldn't sit around with Moby Dick in his hand, or that he wasn't kitten whipped by his wife Susan).
I liked the development of the love affair between your character and Terri Treas (I hope I spelled her name right).
I looked up the bios for you and some of your cast members. It was nice to see you are still working hard! Coming from a family of actors and artists, I know it can be challenging to earn a living at your craft. It appears you have been successful at continuing in something you obviously love to do.
Like many Alien Nation fans, I was sorry when they cancelled the show, because I had heard the ratings were good.
5b4I recently watched the first season through Netflix. It was fun! All the best to you in your endeavors! I'll check out some of the things you mentioned. -

Hey thanks for the props, noicon! (btwI'm slow What does "props" come from in this context? Can someone tell me?) And yeah, we all had a ball doing Alien Nation. I write about it a lot in my book, ACTING & Other Flying Lessons. And that zombie-hunter series that I talked about in the spring seems to have gone away. Financing fell thru I guess. BUT I'm appearing in THE JACE HALL SHOW on Crackle.com (Sony's web portal) and now PRODUCING and WRITING for a new webseries called "WHAT IF..?" for HD FILMS on the WARNER'S lot. It will be like a 7-minute Twilight zone, reimagined for the net. We're editing our pilot now which we shot a few weeks ago, so watch for it. Producing is very coolbeing King is good! lol Take care! Alien Nation was a really clever and sensitive sci-fi show, and it should've lasted longer. A great virtue of the show to mention is the really expressive and captivating acting. Gary, you were perfect in the role of Matt Sikes. It's great to read your comment here and thank you for sharing the news on your new projects with us. Good luck to your writing and producing work but don't stop acting! It's always a pleasure to see an artist who's so talented.

I'm also a fan of Matt Sikes and the man who played him, Gary Graham. I'd heard of the Alien Nation series for years, but had never seen it. (saw the moviea couple of years ago, though) I then saw the DVD set on the shelf at a local department store earlier this year and grabbed it! I thoroughly enjoyed it, to the extent that I had the Best Buy TV movie set sent to me by a friend in New York. (I'm in Canada, and Best Buy doesn't ship outside of the States) Anyway, great stuff! I'm so happy they continued the story to the extent they did. Many shows never get that chance.
This new "What If?" series sounds interesting. I'll defintitely look into that. Reminds me of the long runningand excellentMarvel Comics series of the same name.
Anyway, thank you Gary for playing so many fun characters.
Hey, if they ever made a new Robot Jox movie, would you accept a role in it? -

Greetings, Gary!
I, too, LOVE Alien Nation (to the point of having the DVDs and all the novels). The best part of the show, for me, was the chemistry between Sikes and Francisco, or yourself and Pierpoint. Did the two of you get on in real life as well?

You still go by "Det. Sikes?" Crazy. I thought I was the only one who knew or cared about Alien Nation.
I swore that Alien Nation played back-to-back with "War of the Worlds" TV series, but yet NOBODY other than me remembers either show. I guess maybe I was just a nerd growing up? Everyone else was doing cool 80's stuff while I was watching strange tv shows.
Oh, and good job on "Star Trek: Enterprise." Again, I am a strange person because I thought Enterprise was far better than any of the other Star Trek offshoots of the time. I loved the ONE CONTINUOUS STORY that Enterprise was. Most trekkies consider me an apostate for my favorable views on Enterprise.
