Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Spencer Grammer

    memeagogo — 16 years ago(September 17, 2009 08:14 PM)

I feel like she pauses in between words when she talks, it gets kind of annoying. I think she's a good actress and she's pretty and I love Greek but I do notice her pausing between words sometimes when she talks. Sometimes its not as noticeable, other times its very noticeable.
    Example:
    ZBZislikethebesthouseoncampus
Maybe its just me but I feel like she kind of talks weird?
(Sorry if this was already brought up!)

Frannie (tiffany dupont) does this too. I'm wondering if she's trying to represent Valley Talk? Spencer didn't do this in her other tv roles. Tiffany was in the Bedford Diaries (are there clips of this show on Youtube?) and I don't recall her pausing too.

Spencer actually addressed this in one of the special feature commentaries. She said that when she pauses, she's trying to remember her lines.

I'm stunned about this reveal and that she would admit it! She does not do this in her other roles. She had long speeches on As The World Turns and did a full feature length film where she was in the lead role and doesn't pause.

I notice her pausing often, but to me it's like she always delivers her lines in bursts, rather than pausing evenly throughout her train of thought. More like, "well, whatImeantosayisum, well. ZBZisthebesthouseoncampus!. I mean.. seriouslyyouguys"

See that is why I thought it was valley talk as Tiffany/Frannie did it also.
I'm surprised Spence would have trouble remembering lines as she stated in one of her Greek interviews that the producers were so impressed she remembered lines quickly (from her soap background) when she auditioned for Greek.
