One who isnt unlikeable?
Wow, you sure were quick to go for the OPs throat on this one.
I came to her board to look for a thread discussing the fact that she usually (from the few things I've seen her in, anyways) plays a seemingly cruel, unlikeable character.
To add to your list, OP, I'm currently watching the episode of Criminal Minds she's in, and of course, she plays another extremely unlikeable character.

Okay, was the "Motherly Secretary" in "Pearl Harbor" unlikeable? I have the dvd but I'm not ready to sit down for 183 minutes to find that part!
Depends on the "mother" I suppose.
The fact is is that her face has a very defined bone-structure that is capable of a warm, loving smile but is also easily malleable to the point of severe anger or insanity.
With her hair pulled high and make-up she has the bone-structure of a wealthy socialite. But I think her natural accent has led her to some less-than-savory but often funny "mean" roles. Not to imply that a Southern accent = mean, I'm Southern myself. And maybe she's type-cast and.or actually enjoys the unlikeable roles.
Zod knows it made us take notice of her and post here!

she has small but likeable roles in Flags of Our Fathers & No Country for Old Men (and I was almost disappointed that she was not in bitch mode). However the majority of her roles are of the self righteous, sanctimonious bitch kind and NOBODY does it better than her in contemporary cinema. How I "love" to hate that woman!

Yes, she has played a likable character. In
Sordid Lives
, she's the center of a rather dysfunctional southern family. Her character's only issue is that she's trying to quit smokingthe rest of 'em have far greater issues. And she's a stitch.

Beth Grant seems to play more villainous and unlikeable characters than some actresses. I think she plays them well and I loved her as Pageant Official Jenkins in 'Little Miss Sunshine.' She's been in so many movies, so I guess it's hard to keep track of how many likeable and unlikeable characters she's played.
