I actually think she's quite beautiful

I agree. Maggie is a total knockout. Not only a natural beauty, she conveys a disarming warmth and kindness, keen intellect and subtle charm. Her depth is profoundly moving to me, a brilliant multifaceted gem, she always sparkles. I am amazed at her innate ability to be real, genuinely present, and full o2000f surprises. Maggie's performance exceeds the role; she breathes a spontaneous living soul. Hubba-hubba!

I don't think she's ugly necessarily but I don't think she's pretty.
She just seems normal, like a human being. There are way uglier people out there that people could be trolling on, but at the same time at least in my opinion, they do have some point there.
And one person said something about her nude in Secretary and I had to go see and yeah um all I can see is her rib cage. I'm a girl, but how exactly is that attractive??? Yeesh. -

Meh. Eye of the beholder quote. To each his own. She did almost ruin TDK for me. I really wished Katie Holmes reprised her role in that, but then saw Maggie and couldn't believe how the richest man in Gotham, the people's attorney, and a maniacal maniac could all go crazy for her.

For one thing, Bruce was her childhood friend

Totally agree with you. To paraphrase a quote from some movie " If I had a dog as ugly as her, I would shave it's ass and teach it to walk backwards!"
When I realized they Katie wasn't reprising her role from BB I thought what hot woman did they find to replace her with? To my dismay I found out it was Maggie Gyllenhaal, I seriously thought they had used Stevie Wonder as casting director.
She might be a great actress but she's not to be cast as a desirable woman in any way, shape or form!

She's very pretty. I thought she was so sexy in "Mona Lisa Smile". The only thing that she tends to do is slouch, and taller women (and some men) tend to do that which is a pity.

Personal preference. Just because someone doesn't agree with you about what's beautiful doesn't mean there's something wrong with them or you. I'm sure that a lot of you who think Maggie's hot might not think some of the other actresses in Hollywood are attractive, even though a lot of others might think they are.
When the wind blows it's almost like I see her in the Hamptons -

i agree. I think peoples imperfections make them beautiful. Kirsten Dunst's funny teeth are so cute, Drew Barrymore's chin and the way she talks out one side of her mouth is strangely adorable. I love Emma Stone's unique voice. Jim Caviezel's goofy bordering on retarded smile is sexy. ETC. I notice a lot of people on this board have a problem with her boobs too. As i mentioned in a previous post, i don't think they're saggy - she just goes braless a lot and slouches (girl might want to start wearing a bra soon though, 2 kids, gravity and breastfeeding will eventually catch up with you). Kate Winslet has got to be the worst offender with getting her increasingly drooping cans out in film. But i LOVE her for it. She's comfortable with herself and not afraid of aging. Unconventional beauty is so underrated.

"Unconventional beauty is so underrated. "
heard THAT!!! I mean, Emma Stone herself is actually very liked so I wouldn't consider anything about her unconventional but I agree with the rest, except Kate, who is one of the most overrated celebrities of all time to me and gets by on showing off her tits for attention. But, not to get OT. I totally agree with you. I've been insulted for liking so called "ugly" celebrities like Jennifer Garner (apparently mannish), Vanessa Ferlito (apparently looks like a methhead), Jennifer Carpenter (apparently has Bell's Palsy), Kristen Stewart (is apparently a stoner), etc. etc. etc.
I'm sorry, but I find cookie cutter Amy Adams/Elizabeth Taylor types with absolutely no "flaws" to their faces to give them character and real unique beauty just boring. More power to you if you look that way, but that look is definitely pushed in our faces too much. You can't say any Barbie doll actresses like those two, Charlize Therone, Kate, Monica Bellucci or anyone is boring or overrated without their hysterical fanatics tearing you down.

I think she's pretty as well. She has a unique and interesting face, perhaps that keeps her from being considered conventionally stunning to others, but I personally found her alluring in Secretary and Crazy Heart.

I think she is watchable on screen, actresses dont have to be supermodels. Meryl Streep has never been that attractive to me but is one of the best actresses around. I find the shallow comments on this board pretty sad, yes everyone has a right to their own opinions. Would like to see all of your pics to see how beautiful you all are and I found Katie Holmes is Batman Begins harder to watch than Maggie G in The Dark Knight due to talent.
