Met Dan a couple of times and he was very friendly and engaging. Full of funny stories. Quite a multi-talented man. Animal trainer, custom bike builder, leather crafter. He was in great shape back in the 1960s training at Vince's Gym.

Very sad to hear this, but at least he is at peace. Cancer has claimed far too many lives, and has likely impacted all of us at some point.
I posted R.I.P.s on both the film and TV series boards for
The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams
, if anyone is interested in them, since both boards get little traffic
.
God speed to you Dan Haggerty. -

I just heard about his death from a poster on the Food & Drink board. This has been a bad week. I "forgot" about Dan Haggerty over the years but I loved him as Grizzly Adams.
I will never let you part, for you are always in my heart: MJ

OMG- I saw the news today and literally almost started crying! When I was a kid, this was my favorite show! I loved Dan Haggerty and am so sad to hear of his passing. I just kept saying out loud "this is horrible!" What a great show that was at the time - so simple and innocent. Grizzly Adams was one of the kindess characters on television. RIP Dan- you were loved and will be missed!

He was my first TV crush as Grizzly Adam. There was such a contrast between his solid body and the sweetness of his features, the tenderness of his eyes and smile. Well, I'll watch my DVDs. So sad

This is gonna sound silly, but growing up with '70s TV when I was young, Dan Haggerty was the male archetype for me. And funny enough, Catherine Bach from Dukes of Hazzard was the female archetype. I haven'1c84t thought about or seen reference to him in years. Sad to hear he finally passed. RIP
