When I was a kid, there was a hugely popular record album produced by Disney titled "Chilling, Thrilling Sounds of the Haunted House" containing brief scary stories with frightening sound effects. It was narrated by Grayson Hall, even though I don't believe she was credited on the jacket. It was surely HER voice and it still gives me chills 40 years later.

As stated in her biography, Grayson Hall: A Hart Act to Follow it is not Grayson but Laura Olsher. www.graysonhall.net

Just saw this post. I too had that album and thought it was Grayson on it. Don't know what became of other posts and i see that sources claim it was someone else. But I do remember that for years Grayson herself claimed absolutely no knowledge of SATAN IN HIGH HEELS. I ran into her in the early 80's and asked her about it and she pointedly said it was not her and she'd never HEARD of the film!!!

She had disagreements with the director and felt he betrayed the actress, Meg Myles. She also claimed to not remember her first date with her husband Samhe found that impossible for to her have forgotten since he left her at a restaurantit was her form of 'dismissal' of the irrelevant.

ign — 14 years ago(May 12, 2011 07:30 PM)I always assumed that it was Grayson Hall on the lp, even when I learned the name of Laura Olsher decades later. I held onto my copy like it was solid platinum just so I could listen to "Dr. Hoffman" tell me scary stories in those days before the internet and MPI's Dark Shadows video releases.
I figured "Olsher" was a pseudonym because Hall, living her life in a grand fashion, maybe needed the cash for the recording gig, but didn't want her professional stage name associated with Disney kiddie fare.
Then, to my surprise, a photo of the
real
Laura Olsher surfaced recently on the 'net, taken during an event to promote the restoration and r2000eissue of "Mister Magoo's Christmas Carol" on dvd. I don't know what I was expecting - maybe that because the two sound identical that they would look somewhat alike; of course they do not.
I'm still astonished that two people could sound so very much alike.
Maybe the people who are trying to replace missing dialogue tracks for a proposed restoration of Hall's "Night of Dark Shadows" should be looking for Laura Olsher.
