Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Kelly Harmon

    Paul-308 — 17 years ago(April 07, 2009 11:57 AM)

Not only was she famous for her work as the Tic Tac girl, she was also an ad spokesperson for Dodge in 1982-1983 during their "Americas Driving Machines" commercial spots on TV and in print ads.Very rare for the same person to do television spots AND magazine/newspaper ads.She would don a racing suit and helmet and promote Dodge 400,Charger 2.2 and Rampage 2.2,usually the ads took place on the sands of a beach. One Dodge 400 TV ad can be seen on You Tube.

Is she the one who bounces the tic-tac on her pencil and then pops it into her mouth? I love that commercial and always wonder how many takes it took for her to accomplish what looks like a very difficult task! If it is she, it wouldn't surprise me ~ coming from a family of jocks. She has good hand/eye coordination 🙂 Thanks!

First, no, Kelly is not the woman balancing the Tic-Tacs on her pencil. I haven't seen her in years, but she'd be a lot older than the woman in the current ad. Second, are you being serious about the woman balancing the mints? You
        DO
know the Tic-Tacs are a special effect in that commercial?
        Yippee: "For king!"
        Yappee: "For country!"
Yahooie: "And, most of all, for 10 an hour!"
