I got so lucky in meeting and getting to know Jack back in 1983 when he was just finishing season 1 of "Voyagers". He was one VERY motivated dude! He was frustrated about how low Voyagers ratings were but they were up against 60 Minutes which was THE show on the air at that time. I remember when he called me to tell me that "Voyagers" had been cancelled. What was next? He was unsure. He really wanted to do feature films, and in a sad irony was so tired of doing television. Then they called him about auditioning for "Making of a Male Model" and man, his life was in whirlwind then. I was lucky to get a letter from him now and then. He would write me to let me know when "Making of a Male Model" would be on. That he was going to Vancouver BC to be on a talk show and HOPED that he could stop in Seattle (where I lived), but time wouldn't allow that. The last letter I got from him was his saying he had landed a role on another tv series called "Cover Up"..he wasn't all that keen about it, but he said he had to keep his face out there if he was going to make it. Sadly, we know what happened in that series. Incredibly, next October 2024 will be the 40th anniversary of his death. He would have been 66 next year! Can you even imagine Jon-Erik as an "older" man..grin…I wish I could have experienced that. I just wanted to say "HI" to everyone and make an introduction as my involvement with "Jack" Jon-Erik Hexum. He was a FANTASTIC human being and is still missed!
