River4ever, honey, we could be here all day with this talk. Seriously, I have some opinions on it, and they're very fervent.
First, Jon-Erik broke up with EG before he died. Unfortunately, the masses didn't know that. There were various reasons, one big one was that she was a Scientologist, JEH didn't understand why she wanted to be one and had no desire to join that religion.
Yes, EG spoke after JEH died, immediately afterwards in a printed interview, as well as on video, in the Entertainment Tonight video as well as his episode of Mysteries and Scandals. Her stories are inconsistent. She can't keep her facts straight. She claims they were engaged, they were not. She claims she knew him better than anyone else, she didn't. Not even close. There is even some speculation that they weren't really dating so much as having gone out a couple of times together, and you see the photos of that. People that can't keep their stories straight are usually lying. And boy, she's told some whoppers.
When viewing those photos, look at them closely. JEH looks unhappy, every time. His body language speaks volumes. And she looks like she is literally HANGING on him. Not good.
In the Mysteries and Scandals episode, she says that he was a "ticking timebomb," and she had no idea when he'd go off. What? Anyone that knew JEH said he was a very happy man, loved his career, basically a positive person. Sure, he was upset at how Cover Up was produced (being promised things like creative control, and never given what he was promised), but on a whole he loved life. Why would she say such a thing? Way to throw a friend under the wheels of the bus, especially after he's gone and can't defend himself. Nice.
When you look at pics taken in the era that he was supposedly so close to EG, he also dated Emma Samms and Susan Barnes. They were not exclusive. JEH says in interviews that he wasn't dating anyone seriously, he wanted to focus on his career first, marriage and children later. Her claims are unfounded. Completely.
But, the thing that REALLY gets me is her one woman show on YouTube. She mentions him briefly. She says, in her Tommy Pickles voice, "I met my prince,5b4 and then, and then," and she switches to a deeper voice, "He died." Then she says, "Oh what shall I do? Where shall I go? Should I go to a party? Woohoo!" OMG. If that isn't being completely disrespectful to JEH, I don't know what is. You'd think, if she loved him, as she claimed to have done (said he was "the one") then that's a pretty crappy way to honor his memory. Makes me sick to my stomach to hear it. And it makes me angry. JEH deserved WAY better than that. He was a good man inside. Kind, compassionate, sweet. And loved people.
EG was nothing more than one more scum sucking pig that was using JEH for his fame. And he had a few clinging to him in the end, which was sad.
Honey, I could go on and on. But I won't, I've already said too much. If you want to read some great things about JEH from his true friends, those that knew him well, worked with him, and went to school with him, then read my site. Jack Tales and Jon-Erik stories are two good pages. Lots of cool stories there. And I'm not just trying to promote my site, if I were just a fan, I'd love to go there, the info I've provided there is phenomenal. Even JEH's brother commented on the guestbook that we did substantial and thorough research into his brother's life, it was a job well done. ;o) Check it out, I bet you'll love it, I get rave reviews from his fans as well as his friends. Good site. My girl2000s and I did good.
Hope that answered your question. And I hope I didn't ruin the image of EG for you. I don't care for her personally, nor anything she stands for, I'm sorry. You won't see any evidence of her on my site, except for the blog about the Brandon Lee book, she's mentioned extensively in it. Otherwise, you won't see her in anything I do.
Oh, one more thing: if you REALLY want to know what EG is like, Google the transcripts from when she was on Howard Stern. She talks about keeping Rick Salomon around after their divorce because he had a large, well, you get the idea. She watched the famed sex tape with Paris Hilton with him, to critique it. OMG. Is nothing sacred? No thanks. People like that make my skin crawl. No wonder JEH broke up with her. If it'd been me, I'd have gone screaming for the hills. JEH had class. She did not.

Oh, and the man that got his heart, he lived for 18 years, I believe, with JEH's heart. That's pretty amazing for a transplanted organ. Go to my page, Jack's Greatest Gift, it talks about his organ donation, his brother is on the video there. It will inspire you to become a donor too. I am.

River, let me look and see if I can find a website that has those photos. If not, you can send me your email address. I have them on my hard drive, I can email them to ya. Got 'em, don't really want 'em, so I keep them in a different file. One I don't use very often. LOL!
The Mysteries and Scandals episode, it used to be on YouTube, but the person that put it up took it down, for some reason. Or there is at least one part still up, I think it's part two, of all things.
I know his official fan club sells it, as well as the ET episode. In the M&S bit she says they were dating for 10 months, in the ET episode, she says it was "well over a year." Which is it? Really?
There is one thing you can see that might clue you in. On my site, on the TV appearances section, watch the video with Regis. Now it was filmed right after he filmed The Bear movie. The Bear was filmed over Christmas, 1983. Jon-Erik talks in other interviews of how they had to chew ice between scenes because it was supposed to be summer when the scenes were shot, yet they filmed in freezing temps. Anyhow, we all know he died 10/84. She claims she was dating him when he died. Now count back those 10 months, that would be when he was filming The Bear.
On that Regis interview, Regis asks him if there is anyone special in his life. When he answers, he calmly says there isn't. There is no partial grin, no emotion in his eyes, nothing at all to show that he's hiding a secret. Now, sure, he's an actor, and a lot of them hide their personal lives, and thankfully Jon-Erik was a class act, he was private. But, well, if you were dating the love of your life, wouldn't you show SOMETHING? Some hint, like a twinkle in the eye, something? Nothing.
His head was shaved into a buzz cut for the movie. There are pictures of him in that buzz cut, with Emma Samms and Suzanne Barnes. Yet there are none with EG. Hmm.
Even when filming star5b4ted on Cover Up, he still had that buzz cut, and the producers had a fit, a buzz wasn't en vogue for a fashion model, like he was playing in the show. They made him a ridiculous hair piece to wear until his hair grew in, you can see it in the pilot episode, it was bad.
Her statements/timeline just don't add up.
Oh, and one other thing: in the Mysteries and Scandals episode, she claims that, when they met, he saw her in a play, called her, at 2am, and said, "I have fallen madly in love with you and I have to take you out." (my paraphrasing, you get the jest.) This was a guy that admitted he wasn't real smooth with women, heck, he was thought to be a narc in high school because he was so nerdy. And, he was notorious for breaking up bowling parties so that he could get to bed early for his sleep. Does this sound like a man that would call a stranger, and tell her he's fallen in love with her, at 2am no less? I call bullsh*t.
Oh, and let's talk about how, in that episode, she said he had a little gash in his head after the accident. Um, no. Jon-Erik had a craniotomy, FFS, and if you are squeamish, don't Google a craniotomy procedure. Suffice it to say it was more than a simple gash. She wouldn't know, she wasn't there. My sources tell me that the family kept all the scum sucking pigs out of his room as he lay there, fighting for his life. Obviously, she wasn't there. She claims on the set2000 of Pee Wee's Big Adventure that, on seeing PeeWee on a hospital gurney that she had flash backs of them wheeling JEH out of the studio on a gurney. Every report from the studio says he was carried out on a prop door.
Something stinks to high heaven here. And I think the smell is coming from the general direction of EG Daily.

There are some pics taken of the day he and EG supposedly broke up, at a tent event. I hate those pics. He is so upset, and is trying to smile for the camera, but I swear he almost looks like he's been crying. Breaks my heart.

There is one pic where she wants a kiss from him, and is puckered up for it. My son teases that he's saying, "Do not want!" LOL!

From all accounts of Emma Samms, she was a real lady, and didn't kiss and tell. A friend of mine met her and talked to her about Jon-Erik. She actually had very lovely things to say about him. (He shared his story on my site, on the Jon-Erik Stories page.)
I haven't heard a bad thing about her. Now, I could be wrong, but if I am, I have yet to hear it.
And she was a beauty. EG, um, not so much. Ew.
My husband will agree with you, he liked Emma. And they were darling together in Hotel.
I always say that if they weren't an item, they were at least fond of each other, as each of their pics seem to portray.

My theory, and I have absolutely no fact to back this up, just a passing theory, is that maybe she was a studio set up. I mean, she was popular then, with Valley Girl. Maybe they were a set up to go to several functions together and be photographed together (like he was with Joan Collins) and she wouldn't let go.

Jack's Girl you hit the nail on every head with your account. She sounds like a rotten 'Eg'ghead. Even though I already know how you feel, you put it in such grand detail. And to the other poster, I still have to wonder what the attraction was too. Maybe she was a little fun or something, but that probably wore if pretty darn quick. Who really knows? Point is he broke up with her and was never really happy to begin with. It was a definite in the body language and gritted teeth/strained smile of every picture they took together.
