There was a hard cover book he was selling at the Chiller theatre.
I personally asked him the same question and he showed me a book that had alot of pics showing the behind the seens photos for the making of Night of the Living dead.
He knew right where it was located in the book so alot of folks must have already asked him this same question many times over and he was all too happy to show it to me.
In the photo he showed me, he was operating a camera with no zombie make-up.
He looked like an ordinary young guy from what I recall.
NOTHING like his zombie alter-ego at all.
That is the only photo I know of. -

I dont think there are any internet links at all which have pics(not even his own website so ive heard) when he was young. I live in Tassie you see so I probably wouldn't be able to buy the book seeing as they probably wouldn't sell it down here

That's cool. I met him here in my hometown when a local theater was doing a stage version of "Night of the Living Dead". After the show, he was signing autographs and he signed my "Night of the Living Dead" DVD.

OK Nicko I saw him again today 08/27/2005 and asked him about the book that has a photo of him in it taken back then without the makeup on.
It is not an individual photo of him, it is a photo of him operating a camera on the Night of the Living Dead set.
He told me he didn't have anymore at this time but said that there is a link in Cinema wasteland and you can buy it from there.
I found the link.

I hope this helps you. -

I met him at the same exact expo! It was SO cool to finally meet the very first zombie I ever saw! (I saw NOTLD when I was 5.)
He and I talked for a good 15 minutes about NOTLD and some of his other movies. I agree with what you said: He's very friendly and down to earthand I got a great picture with him!

I just met him today at Kitbuilders Magazine horror con in St. Louis. He was a delight and him and I talked for like 15-20 minutes, it was very nice and he was indeed friendly and down to earth, like you all have described.
We talked about Flesh Eater mostly, I told him I really enjoyed that picture and he went into great detail about his other works as well, like for example industrial/educational type videos that he works on, it was a very probing conversation. I recommend all fans of Bill to seek him out at cons.
