Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Kane Hodder

Is there some bad blood between Kane and Ken? At this recent convention they had all these actors who played as Jason gather around, and they were all sitting in the order of the film, except ken who said on the complete opposite side of Kane.
On Jason's lair i heard this guy actually asked a question about that and got thrown out???
    Man
    See you in the funnies.

I have heard that Kane and Ken do not get along. I didn't like the fact that Ken was chosen over Kane for Freddy vs. Jason, and I think Kane was upset about it to, and he should be. The part of Jason Vorhees should have belonged to Kane, he was born to play the role.

In Kane Hodder's autobiography Kane said he did not blame Ken for not being considered for the role. He may have been mad initially, but he's had some time to cool off. Maybe they seperated Ken from Kane because they were afraid of bad blood, but based upon what he says in his book I don't think he's angry at Ken.

Sorry to any fans of his but Kane Hodder has always came across to me as a bitter, arrogant and whiny bitch. In interviews he always puts down the actors who played Jason before him, and always says that he is better than them. Now obviously alot of people agree with him, but come on show a bit of modesty, jesus. Also what is with the height disorder he seems to have? Ever since the rumour he was too short to play Jason he wears boots with like 3 inch beep soles. And if he really did have issues because Ken Kirzinger played Jason then how beep childish can you get? It was a job, okay he played it more than anyone else (also as he likes to point out that he was the only one good enough to be asked back? nope, most of the actors were asked back, but declined) but at the end of the day the money people decide. You can't throw a hissy fit just because they decided they wanted to go in a new direction. Like Robert Englund for example he WAS Freddy and actually created Freddy. When he got recast? he was professional and b68respectful. Kane Hodder? who played Jason from the seventh movie and took credit for most of C.J. Graham's mannerisms of Jason? what did he do? throw a hissy fit and moan at anyone who would listen. Stay classy.

But it was expected for Freddy to be recasted as it was a remake, not film that's basically a continuation.

I kind of have to agree with you.
Kane did a fantastic job at playing Jason, but come on! Christopher Lee played Dracula 9 times and had no problem seeing someone else play the part and I can't seem to recall one comment of him trashing Bela Lugosi. Why? Because a better actor won't do that.

he was upset and said a few things in 2003, wouldn't you be? you got promised to do a movie since 1988 and in 2003, at the last miniute they didn't include you, even had the script and did interviews about it. but now he respects and forgived ken.
