You met Peter and Harris, birdpoop? Did they leave you a big tip when you waited on their table? You know, since they were seated, their height could not be accurately gauged by you. O'Toole is 6'2" mentioned everywhere and acknowledged by all bu2000t you. Since you are only 5'5", everyone looks taller.

via email to whom, birdpoop you???? Gee, you sure know a lot of famous celebrities. OK, better inform a carload of folks about shortie O'Toole's true height. He keeps getting smaller with each post. He will soon be down to Alan Ladd size at this rate.

davey's got a point. Actors should be the same height as the characters they play. That's why Peter O'Toole was all wrong for the role of Lawrence, being nearly a foot taller than the desert adventurer. Forget about talent height is all that counts for davey. By the way, how can a midget be closeted?

Hey, do you never heard about contact lenses?? And I can't see Jim Carrey there! Sure, Leonardo Di Caprio is right for that role! What are you saying??? I think that he was convincing as Hughes, I think that he deserved to win that Oscar! By the way I want so much that he win just for one time an Oscar, for shut up all these stupid people.

In the end its only the performance you should really be concerned about. Just look at Joaquin Phoenix as Johnny Cash, little resemblance but an oscar nominated performance, yeah?

I think DeCaprio is one of the best actors out there today. I think he put in a great performance of Hughes in a movie which was breathtaking. If I was to be asked to cast the movie in the first instance, then I think I may be inclined to go for Colin Farrell in the role of Hughes, not necessarily for his acting ability, but for the look. In my opinion, he has a resemblance to Hughes. As for someone suggesting Jim Carrey - no way! Jim Carrey just cannot veer away from comedy. I saw him in that recent movie he did, The Number 23, which was supposed to show his acting ability in a serious role, and he still couldn't avoid bringing the comedic element into it. If he played Hughes he would probably have done the same and spoilt it. All in all, DiCaprio did a fine job which he should be commended for. After all, it is based on the true story of Hughes, not a factual account in every respect.

Says yourself. Appearance and stature are beside the point it's all in the performance, and I think Leo pulled it off splendidly (as usual). Love the movie mainly because of himand Cate Blanchette.

Nobody could've done justice to Hughes as Leo did. This was by far his best performance ever and the movie is so interesting because of him (of course Scorsese & Cate get credit too). Hughes was a visionary but had big flaws too, and Leo played the character in way that made everyone look through those flaws and feel for Hughes. When appearance is not similar it get's harder to convince the audience about the character the actor is playing. Leo may not look like Hughes but his performance sure did. It was an Oscar worthy performance that totally outweighs appearance.

Yeah, brainford's on the right track with this one. Actors should not portray real people whose height does not match their 5b4own. 6'2" Peter O'Toole never should have played 5'4" T.E. Lawrence no matter how good he was in the part. Let's have proper height matchups, not talent.
