US is one of the most self-sufficient economies in the world. US trade-to-GDP ratio is 27,04 %, whereas EU trade-to-GDP ratio is 101,65 % lol.
EU exports $605.8 billion worth of goods to the US, whereas US exports only $370.2 billion to the EU.
Guess who has more leverage. Guess who will suffer more in any potential economic confrontation.

If you weren't as dumb as a rock, you would know that late 19th century was an amazing period for the United States. Rapid industrialization, fast economic growth, history defining victory against Spanish empire. It was during that period that US transitioned from regional power to world power.
