the fact that she has such a high opinion of her self and her craft that she won't do nude scenes as a rule, yet he gets naked in a film called feddy jason is just a hilarious piece of irony.
she's definitely the kind of girl you want to throat beep. -

Actually, a starlet going nude has such a mixed history of success that she'd probably do better without it:

http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2004-12-03/news/0412040066_1_scene- in-short-cuts-nude-nudity
And here are some stars who appeared on the cover of Playboy at the zenith of their careers, and for most of them, it was downhill from there:

I don't have any statistics, but I would say nudity as a career enhancer for females is about as reliable as a rain dance. You might point out to a lot of women who started their careers going nude, but on the other hand, it's hard to point to all the ones whose careers went nowhere after a nude scene, because nobody knows who they are.
Who'd a thought there are some things enough erect penises can't do? There's nothing in an actresses job description that requires nudity. -

Just a broad quote from a bunch of people who have acted on tv and in movies, "Anyone can act." That's not to say there aren't extremely talented actors/actresses. The facts are, appearance is far more important than talent in Hollywood. Something she certainly doesn't lack. As far as acting goes, she's consistently decent, but she's not going to wow any non-fanboys (yet).
I see a lot of people going on about her potentially being typecast if she were to go nude. Oh, you mean like being typecast as a scream queen? Done. Then she blew that. Now, most of her roles are still in the horror/scifi/thriller genres, but she isn't getting the major roles she was offered before. Wonder why that is Oh, yeah, maybe because she accepted roles that required nudity and then refused to do those scenes. Most of the nude scenes she refused to do didn't actually show anything anyway. Pasties to cover her nipples or flesh-toned garments with little more digital work than they would normally do and she would have saved herself a LOT of drama. They've done as much for Briana Evigan, Megan Fox, etc.
All the talk about her getting her big break it came and went. She was the title character in a cult favorite, followed by being asked to audition as the lead in Freddy vs Jason and then accepting a lesser part. Had she kept the role as Lori with Monica picking up the trashy supporting character, she would have avoided the drama that ensued. Completely avoided the entire nude scenario, instead passing it to someone like Moni7ecca who isn't afraid to do sex scenes and get nude. And considering she was a rising star and a proven commodity in the genre, they would have been hard pressed to pass on her for Monica. Despite any complaints Ronny Yu could have made.
Now, I like her. Problem is, her window is quickly closing. If it slams closed on her, she will only have herself to blame. The only way I see her getting another real chance is if she gets a major role on an HBO, Showtime or AMC series to prove herself as a serious actress. All of which are likely to require she show more skin than she would like. If not require her to go topless. Right now, she's basically a scream duchess, not even capable of landing the leads in horrors she consistently got for a while. So, she either needs to accept the position she has put herself in and adapt or take after Danielle Harris and embrace her typecast.
Her passion (horses) obviously isn't going to work out as a career choice. This isn't the 1800s. Her chosen career is to be little more than a dancing monkey. Argue it if you like, but her job is to entertain us. If she continues to refuse to do the dance required of her, be rid of her. It's not like hot brunettes are rare. It's really not hard to find one to replace her that doesn't have the attitude problem or refuse to do her job after she's already accepted it.
She's going on 31, so it's not like she's a young actress someone is willing to bank a franchise on now. Alexa Vega, Briana Evigan, the Prescott twins and Lacey Turner are just a few people that would gladly lighten her workload. Plus about a million others. Many of which are equally or more talented and don't have the hangups she does. -

BTW - Katharine was offered the role of Monica - and then after accepting - was told that she instead was going to have to play the role of Gibb!
Her passion for horses has nothing to do with her career (she does have a life outside of acting!!).
Katharine has also many times expressed her love of acting - and not fame - as her career motivator. We wished some of you could meet her in person. You might find that there is much more to her personality - and talent - than "nude scenes", etc.

That's right! Very good.
Three years this thread as been here idle and you disturb its slumber to correct a redundancy, and one where redundancy actually clarifies. I guess that goes to show any slight mistake on the Internet can come back to haunt me years later.
Despite what your English teacher told you, sometimes redundancies and mixed metaphors are acceptable
Let me explain. Zenith means highest point, and its original use was to describe celestial bodies in the sky. However, a person's career does not behave like a celestial body as seen from Earth. There are plateaus and comebacks, and sudden drops off the radar. When I said it was all downhill from there, it means it means the descent was fast.
It was a mixed metaphor. But if you're talking about a person who's a "star," zenith is the best word.
Though I guess have said that they cratered. But stars don't crater, meteors do. And crater was a little too fast for me.
