Her career has gone nowhere

I opine that she refuses to go to Hollywood because she knows the pitfalls of Tinseltown. Ever considered that she'd rather stay in Vancouver with her friends and family and horses than submit herself to the rat race in Hollywood where she might wind up washed up and dead? Where you lose all your privacy once you become famous? I believe that she's happy the way things are. She earns enough money to make a living and keeps a low profile and she doesn't have to worry about the latest headlines in the yellow press. She has enough talent to easily make it in Hollywood but she's just not keen on it.

I'm sure this topic has been beaten to death and only spurred on further by couch critics who have never actually had to been in her shoes, but I'll throw my own two cents out there.
Is she t5b4alented? Absolutely. She has one of those faces that could either be devious or trustworthy. She has range. Out of every thousand actors, one will get their big break and wind up in Oscar winning films; not cause they deserve it more, which a lot don't. It's about playing the game. When you walk into a casting call, it goes one of four ways. 1. The guy's decent and not a douchebag, so either 2. you get called back or you don't or 3. He is a douchebag and you don't beep him or don't get the role or 4. You beep him and don't get the role, because studio has final say and they always want at least one name per film to guarantee seats and DVD sales. If she isn't churning out Oscar films, she's probably not sleeping with directors, producers or studio executives and for that, I'm glad. I'd hate to see someone with talent sell themselves short in that way, which goes for any actress, really.
Like Burger said, "Ever considered that she'd rather stay in Vancouver with her friends and family and horses than submit herself to the rat race in Hollywood where she might wind up washed up and dead? Where you lose all your privacy once you become famous?" That's how it is. You have a better chance of having junk pushed on you on a set than making an honest friend. It's a sad fact. When you're working 12-18 hours a day, do you think everyone's drinking coffee?
If she's meant to hit Hollywood in the jaw, I'd like to see5b4 her do it on her own without taking the low road and if all I ever get to see her in is straight to DVD releases, that's fine, too. By the way, Chelan Simmons was also in Ogre and if you give it a chance and go by the actors not the lame plot, it's not half bad.

With the number of video games and animated films for adults out, that's not a bad idea at all. Lots of actresses supplement their income with voice over work.

I remember watching something about her on Youtube, where she said she didn't have internet. Hey, you tried. It's hard for actors now with even commercials going to larger scale names, making it even more difficult to get work, unless you're with ICM or CAA.

well i guess she has the internet now but honestly I'll believe its really her when she purchases a webcam and actually lets me see her because it could be some douche bag but i could be wrong. i did speak to her this morning and she said u actually got to do a voice over demo so who know.

I was thinking the same thing last night! I don't know how, but I noticed her 10 second role in 30 Days of Night sequel and thought she should be doing better things than that by now
I guess at the end of the day, it's all money.

She does guest starring roles but from my POV, it seems to be not a hobby per say, but a side job she does from time to time. Look at Emily Perkins. She doesn't act really anymore because she has custody of her niece and nephew and that's more important to her.

I have to admit that her CV doesn't seem too impressive at the moment, but then you can never really be too sure. I mean, I can remember back a few years when Amy Adams was starring in straight-to-DVD crap like Cruel Intentions 2 and now look at her (she's go111ct 2 Academy nominations under her belt) and she's pretty much in demand.
And
she's over 30.
Katherine has potential which she showed in Ginger Snaps, and whilst Freddy vs. Jason turned out to be your standard run-of-the-mill horror; her performance in the movie wasn't at all bad. I just think she needs to choose her scripts more wisely. Or at least get a new agent. -

I still say that if she did nudity her career would have existed in a professional world filled with flowery meadows and rainbow skies, and rivers made of chocolate, where the children danced and laughed and played with gumdrop smiles.
..or..you know, maybe that's just me.
None of you seem to understand.I'm not locked in here with you. You're locked in here with ME -

She is so pretty and talented that she should have atleast a steady career going, even if she wasnt famous.
She has made bad choices though.
It sounds bad but I think if she had gone topless earlier on in her career than she would be a bigger star today.
She taught a term at a drama school I went to about five years ago and she was pregnant then. Maybe she is more family orientated now.
Should you look before you leap? Not if you want to make the leap.
