Her career has gone nowhere

There's actually more actresses like her in the world than it is of Hollywood "They Have Their Soul Taken" Starlets. There's very few Hollywood based A-list actors out there. Most of the resumes I look at on IMDB are a lot like her's.
A lot of actors get contempt with the Hollywood lifestyle and would rather just do an acting job here or there on a lower level whether it be on television, b-level movie, music, theater, behind the scenes stuff like directing or producing, stand up comedy on the road, teaching, or whatever else. Sometimes it can be due to raising a family or just simply not being that money-hungry to the point where they just work for the billions or they don't network with the A-listers.
At this point of her career in her early-to-mid 30s she is probably fine with her career and could give a damn about that Hollywood ego sh!t. I think her fans would definitely like her to do at least one mainstream role either on TV or in the movies but if she's happy then let her be. -

I have been a fan of Katharine's ever since I first saw "Ginger Snaps" in 2002, and I agree. I was hoping she would have been more popular after "Ginger Snaps" was released. To this day, her only "mainstream" film credits are "Freddy Vs. Jason" and "Insomnia," in which she had basically a cameo appearance. I am really hoping "American Mary" will expose Katharine to mainstream directors again and lead to more roles.
My ultimate hope for her at this point in her career is that Christopher Nolan will cast her again in his new film "Interstellar," but this time in a larger supporting role. -

Isabelle just hit it straight out of the ballpark with her exceptional lead performance in "American Mary," so her career is doing just fine at the moment.
Agreed. Also, she's been working consistently so how does that mean her career has gone nowhere .. unless the OP equates success with money. -

Peb68rsonally, I think shes doing just fine also, shes a working actress. Fans should be glad to see her at all rather than something bigger just for the sake of exposure. Theres so many people who try at this business that dont even get to her level of success.
When there's no more room in Hollywood, remakes shall walk the Earth. -

In an interview I read with her a few years ago she said she had no interest in being a "Hollywood star" and only worked there when she needed the money so she could remain in Vancouver and do things she "Wanted to do".
So it is her choice no be the next whomever. She says crap about the crap she's done because it is crap. She knows it is and does it for the paycheck. She has never said anything negative about "Ginger Snaps" or "American Mary" or any of her top films that are obviously loads different than "Ogre". Her negative comments about FVJ stem from the producers tossing ion the shower scene which was not in the original script. She still balked at the nude scene and made them use a body double! She says producers are always trying to "trick" her into a nude scene but she remains adamant. THAT can piss off a lot of creepy industry people, too!
But she says she's happy doing what she likes and does the garbage when she needs to.
