I thought he was hot then, too. Of course, I was also 15 at the time. And had him in my English class. I still have no idea if he even realized how much I liked him. He was a dork, but so was I. (Actually, I still am.) I loved his eyes, his smile, and his sense of humor.
I will never forget a time when the teacher brought her husband in to class. We were studying Homer, and the husband taught Greek or knew Greek or something. He wrote a sentence on the board in that language, then asked the class if anyone had any idea what it said. Gabe said under his breath, "No, it's all Greek to me!" He cracked up, I cracked up, and my heart was beating fast at how cute he was at that very moment. I doubt he remembers that, but I always will.
I missed him at our reunion; I hope he is well.
