I saw him at an event in Hollywood and saw him being interviewed on the red carpet. He was very down to earth and talked about his small role in 'Poseidon'. He didn't appear to have any Hollywood airs.
The funniest thing is that I remember seeing 'Real Genius' at the movies and until now, never made the connection! The rounded baby cheeks are gone now.

I had English with him when we were both 15 and going to Santa Monica High. He's very nice, fun to be around, has a great sense of humor, and is very smart. The character Mitch in "Real Genius" is a lot like Gabe, at least at that time. I haven't spoken to him really since then, but heard he was doing well thru Keith Mitchell when I saw Keith performing in Shakespeare about 10-12 years ago. I wouldn't mind getting back in touch with him, but it doesn't look like he reads his boards.
A joke Gabe told will forever be burned in my memory: Our teacher's husband came in to class to talk to us about Greece and such as we were studying "The Odyssey." He wrote some phrases on the chalkboard in that foreign language and then asked the class: "What do you think that says?" Gabe's response, altho not too loudly that it disrupted the whole class, was "I don't know; it's all Greek to me!" I had the hugest crush on him, and it was just reinforced by that joke. He will always have a special place in my memories and my heart.
Best wishes, Gabe, if by some miracle you ever see this! (I'm on IMDb, too!)
