I agree with you about Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner, but so many people will say they solely go by ones chromosomes. If so, then how would they address intersexed people? I know that some have called actress, Jamie Lee Curtis a male because they believe she is more male than female.

I think Jamie Lee was born with male DNA but her body produces only estrogen
Dreams, Caitlyn chose to have those surgeries because of how she has felt all her life. She felt she was living a lie and I empathize with what that must have been like for her. She didn't want to make waves or hurt anyone so she lived as Bruce -

Caitlyn chose to have those surgeries because of how she has felt all her life.
He did it FOR HIMSELF, and that's fine.
But, he doesn't deserve to be called a "hero" and bb68e given awards for it. A hero is someone who puts himself on the line
for another's well-being.
What Bruce did is self-serving.
(I don't even like the term "sports hero." Grown men being paid millions to play a game? Pul-eese! Give me a break!)
The only positive thing he did was to bring transsexualism to the forefront of discussion.
And, the jury is still out, wondering if he's going to want to turn back to Bruce. -

Yes, but we're talking about Caitlyn and she isn't responsible for those other things. She's not changing the laws, others are doing that. You don't have to accept her and you don't have to like the other things that are going on in locker rooms but the two are separate. She has no control over what others are doing

Yes, she does want the people in the trans community to be treated fairly as far as jobs go but I haven't heard her advocate for same sex locker rooms. We can't just assume what she's for or against unless she's asked specifically. The trans community has been critical of her conservative views

Dreams, I agree with most of what you are saying:
To be politically correct, the transgender has rights, but
the rest of us
have no right to express an opinion. That's it in a nutshell.
That's the way Bruce's supporters see it.

Put another way:
- Some dude goes to HR to complain that "Betsy" is holding up production and making the workplace miserable by constantly correcting the staff's pronouns.
- "Betsy" goes to HR to complain that "her" co-workers keep referring to "her" with masculine pronouns.
In which case is HR more likely to take action, and against who?

As a completely Red-blooded heterosexual male I am a supporter and fan of Caitlyn. She is a symbol of courage and martyrdom. She conquered al social odds that were stacked against her plight. When asked to make a speech last year at the Sports awards she received a unanimous standing ovation from all these big and tough athletes. They were floored by her speech. Her delivery was confident, unflinching and sincere. It was powerful. Who else would have the gonads to do that? Well..
Does she still have gonads?
