Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Felicity Jones

My God that was a beautiful scene when she listened to her father's hologram. Her facial expressions and the way she tried to remain composed but couldn't was played beautifully by Felicity Jones. It was wonderful and had me in tears. I doff my cap to her.

Yes, that scene in particular stood out to me too. You've already said pretty much everything I wished to say. It was so emotionally effective and impactful, I thought - which was quite the feat, considering it was a scene between Jyn and a
      hologram
of her father. That scene just really stuck with me. She's such a lovely actress and I thought that scene, as well as the end, were two of the best moments for her character in the movie. Can't wait to see it again.

Agreed. She is a great actress. I was also moved to tears by the emotion she portrayed.

            Sorry, but I couldn't
            disagree
more. This was the worst scene in the entire movie, let alone her character's scenes. Her lips movements, particularly, almost made me cry in the theatre. And to show this in a close-up was one hell of a bad directorial decision. Her overall performance was good and the movie was pretty, but this particular scene I just wished it was cut from the movie.
            Nolan, I love you forever!
