She has very very very dead eyes for my taste
She is that kind of actress that I dont understand how she can be successful or even praised..
Her expressions equal a dead fish
She is pretty but in a very strange way
Im not here to bash her looks Im sure many people find her attractive but manshe is socold and just dead
What am I missing? -

She is a good actress, no doubt, and she was particularly good in the theory of everything. She's also quite beautiful However, I totally agree with you. I was about to make a thread like this one myself actually. She has this sort of blank/dead stare. I could never really connect with someone that has such a dead expression all the time.

Areed
I dont think shes good. I think shes perfect to play a pretty face/bond girl, or the girl next doorbut it looks like shes going to pull of Keira Knightley in Domino
Sorry shes too pretty and innocent looking to play a rough woman
at least now
And if she has this dead look how can she be a good actress? -

Audience nearly always mistakes charm with talent.
Felicity Jones is charming, yet if she's a great actress? No.
But what one can surely say is that she feels more at home in a small, conservative Drake Doremus movie, not in some over-bloated, emotionally vapid production (like "Inferno" or "Rogue One"). Wondering how her career is going to develop, but I'm expecting that after she'll do a couple of big movies, producers are going to say: no, thank you.
She just doesn't belong there. She looks fresh, charming, good on the poster, but - in the movie - has to disappoint.
Yet it's still better hearing many hyperbolic adjectives in connection with Felicity Jones, than to hear similar, or even more elevating, inappropriate comments regarding Rebecca Hall, who's this century's Shelly DuVall of lack of taste and ability. -

I'd agree to "Limited but charming".
One can clearly see that Felicity Jones is a deppresive person and deppresive people fit into small, depressive movies.
And audiences always like new things, Felicity is new and fresh. But there won't pass a year or two, before people are going to catch-up and say: she's boring. and then they'll be given a new "young and pretty, boring actress". -

Limitedumkindashes rookie definitely and if your first big "gig" is the lead role in Star Wars movie? Im sorry Ill forgive her anything
Im glad you agree that shes charming because she has somethingand I only hope the writing in VIII will be stronger, Rey will be more human and that Daisy will deliver stronger performanceI want Rey to be more gentle warrior than triggered warrior

Don't expect any script-improvements in any of the forthcoming +10 Star Wars sequels. Those movies are designed to sell toys and chocolate bars, if anything, they'll become even more simplistic and childish.

I LOVE all 6 movies!
Nothing and no one is flawless BUT the amount of hate his work got is so over the top and undeserved!
So some fans didnt like prequelsboo hooand those are the loudest ones that use the internet to whine and complain non-stop for 17 years now and they think its cool to hate on them
It broke my heart when he talked about that hate"You make something and people hate it, you dont want to continue on"
I dont blame himBut now its not star Wars without him
Hes the fatheryou can have actors, Williams, imagery that was all done because of his vision
But man the new stuff?
Meaning the designs that were made for TFA? So forgettable and unimaginativeGeorge has an eye for great visualsnot JJ, not Kennedy -

Sure, I agree. Those Lucas movies had a vision, while the new one is only a product with a SW logo on it. But as long as people are going to buy that stuff, so long those movies are going to be produced. It's always the taste of the audience which allows this to happen. And "The Force Awakens" - a bad movie, with a re-hashed infantile plot, grotesque villains, two-dimensional protagonist etc. - was one of the biggest hits in the history. Audience has decided - crap is worth of billions.

IMONot a bad movie at all
It has its flaws, namely the script as you mentioned. With Kasdan and JJ writing it its pretty underwhelming and very lazy, relying on coincidence too much and with underwritten or overpowered characters.
Visual side of the movie borrows heavily from previous movies but the new stuff like alien designs or ship designs are extremely forgettable compared to previous 6 movies. Sand/forest/ice planet? Come on now
Actors were great! Moments like Han entering Falcon are justit warmed my heart just like others
Only new thing I liked was Kylo Ren. Im in minority here I know that. I would definitely flashed him out better and added more hints at his motivations and feelings. He is the only unique element of TFA.
But TFA and the rest will forever be for me only and alternative continuation of Star Wars.
Im not bashing it. But I hate Disney -

There is some kind of fulfilment but onyl because we wanted that movie to happen for so long
"Finally Star Wars what we wanted!"
Means only finally more: Han, Falcon, Chewie, stormtroopers, Tie fighters, X-wings
Come on what is the most original thing about this movie?
