I LOVE all 6 movies!
Nothing and no one is flawless BUT the amount of hate his work got is so over the top and undeserved!
So some fans didnt like prequelsboo hooand those are the loudest ones that use the internet to whine and complain non-stop for 17 years now and they think its cool to hate on them
It broke my heart when he talked about that hate"You make something and people hate it, you dont want to continue on"
I dont blame himBut now its not star Wars without him
Hes the fatheryou can have actors, Williams, imagery that was all done because of his vision
But man the new stuff?
Meaning the designs that were made for TFA? So forgettable and unimaginativeGeorge has an eye for great visualsnot JJ, not Kennedy -

Sure, I agree. Those Lucas movies had a vision, while the new one is only a product with a SW logo on it. But as long as people are going to buy that stuff, so long those movies are going to be produced. It's always the taste of the audience which allows this to happen. And "The Force Awakens" - a bad movie, with a re-hashed infantile plot, grotesque villains, two-dimensional protagonist etc. - was one of the biggest hits in the history. Audience has decided - crap is worth of billions.

IMONot a bad movie at all
It has its flaws, namely the script as you mentioned. With Kasdan and JJ writing it its pretty underwhelming and very lazy, relying on coincidence too much and with underwritten or overpowered characters.
Visual side of the movie borrows heavily from previous movies but the new stuff like alien designs or ship designs are extremely forgettable compared to previous 6 movies. Sand/forest/ice planet? Come on now
Actors were great! Moments like Han entering Falcon are justit warmed my heart just like others
Only new thing I liked was Kylo Ren. Im in minority here I know that. I would definitely flashed him out better and added more hints at his motivations and feelings. He is the only unique element of TFA.
But TFA and the rest will forever be for me only and alternative continuation of Star Wars.
Im not bashing it. But I hate Disney -

There is some kind of fulfilment but onyl because we wanted that movie to happen for so long
"Finally Star Wars what we wanted!"
Means only finally more: Han, Falcon, Chewie, stormtroopers, Tie fighters, X-wings
Come on what is the most original thing about this movie? -

I agree completely. I also noticed this with Felicity, something about her bothered the heck out of me and then I realized what that wasthe soulless look about her. She does have these dead eyes look. Something about her isoff.
Her acting never did impress me and her acting seems too wooden for my tastes. Others have mentioned this and I agree.
She has to connect to audiences for them to relate to her and them, and she just doesn't have it. She has to sell herself to the public for them to accept her and welcome her, but that doesn't seem like it's going to happen. It looks like her time in the "it girl" of the moment will be short lived if she can't do better and judging by her role in Inferno isn't really helping with that. People are giving the film and her p@ss poor reviews. Her upcoming Rogue One is a going to be a major turkey. She doesn't have the ability to carry it. That and I know what happens in the film and the problems the film had. -

She was chosen to placed in the front of the class in Htown. Who chose her and why?I don't know. I really don't see the big deal with her. I know she's cute and all but as an actress???? She's passable in "other venues onscreen", just not in big league Hollywood films. Certainly not in the lead in a something like Star Wars.I don't see the whole deal with her Oscar nomination and why she got it but from what I've heard those things can be bought, and that goes for the other award nominations. Certain players were promoting her to be nominated.
Her big shot in a major Htown film was to be cozying up to Hanks in Inferno and that film is getting hammered all over the place. LOL
Her "acting" in the film is being mostly panned by people, as expressionless and wooden..robotic. That's not off to a good start. Her window of opportunity is small, if she can't win over the audience, like Lawrence did, then her leading lady time will expire. People are really fickle nowadays and the studio heads, will see the writing on the wall with her and chose another "it girl" to promote.
The real test i5b4s Rogue, and judging by the trailers, she comes across as again, wooden, no real energy there. Not feeling it..and she's not believable in it. Also is the horrible drama that happened behind the scenes. Lastly, the story. You won't like it. Believe me. Look at the Rogue boards and I'll put a link to BTS on the set that wasn't told. Disney is gotten itself in a pickle. -

Thank you. First thing Ill say its weird that we are having such a civil conversation

Couple of months ago when I expressed basically what you said:
judging by the trailers, she comes across as again, wooden, no real energy there. Not feeling it..and she's not believable in it.
I was called names, sexist etc. My post was reported
and all that stuff. Now it seems people are really seeing what I saw from the first trailer. I dont judge a performance by trailer BUT in this case she has the same soulless OR tbh "wannabe tough/badass, Im better than you" expression in ALL shots she in. And those shots are from variety of different scenes
I predicted from start her performance just like her character will be just weak, unlikable, one dimensional embarrassment. There I said it.
Tell me more, tell me more!

What drama???

I've had many fights online with fans and shills about what I'm telling you and others here. I've been lurking on here looking up what people were saying and I decided to jump in.
I've gotten the same treatment. I've seen others get the same as well. They were just pointing out the obviousand from the looks of the new trailers that came out, Disney got the message too. She comes across differently than the first trailer. They also got the message and decided to go with reshoots to remake a big chunk of the film.
I say that Felicity is wooden and not believable is because that's the way it is. I and you and others are just calling it like we see it. There's nothing really sexist at all about the observations we make of her and her performance because that's our job..it is to judge her, based on her work as an "actress".
She does have a weird soulless look and vibe to her. I noticed it, as did you and others. That's just the way it is with her. I get the heebie jeebies when I look at her performances or her. She's kinda creepy. It's those dead eyes she's got.
You're not the only one that can see that she's not suited for the role in Rogue. She seems out of place. Not all actors/actresses can do all parts. Like Sean Connery, he was made to do James Bond. If they cast Jim Parsons to be Bond, it wouldn't work. It would be a joke then. Felicity doesn't have the chops to properly carry a character or film like she does in Rogue. It's that simple. She is too one dimensional, low energy, and not really likeable..and she's not physically right for the role. She's too petite, tiny girl.
There was a lot of behind the scenes turmoil on the set. New people coming in and replacing the original ones. Gareth Edwards was replaced by Tony Gilroy on directing the reshoots. People will come and deny this..like those two shill tards Kmadden2004 and Max_Cinefilo89. They were arguing with me back and forth on my thread "What Really Happened Behind The Scenes On Rogue". Mostly those two tardsand a interesting fact that both showed up to argue with a poster that was saying things similar to mine on another thread about the same link I gave. They kept arguing with a guy named Dafini. Mostly those two. ???? -

Its always weird talking to one person on various threads at the same time

I knew about all that though. I do my research as far as I canonly the other thread you did there were same things described in a bigger detail but the information was the same. I didnt know about the test audience for example
Of course I take all this with grain of salt as always
there were 3 trailers so far right? I think the visuals will be top notch. All of it looks easily more impressive than the whole TFA
Funny isnt it? But good CGI wount save a movie.
As for her "change". Not really
Yeah she smiled, yeah she gave a "hopefull" speech. But because shes such a bad actress it doesnt even comes across any better
I predict shell be just terrible! You have weak story with weak characters
You had the same with TFA. But Daisy, even if shes a rookie she is pretty lively compare dto Felicity. Ive been saying that for ages now.
Disney and Kennedy have no idea how to continue this franchise. ZERO IDEA. And its pissing me off at this point how those stupid fans keep telling us that this is what star wars needed to be. WHAT? Sorry but no. Just because you have the best CGI and you throw the imagery of original movies in it without a good foundationscript, characters, directiondoesnt mke it good.
I am tired of Disney, Im tired of them making souless, perfectly calculated products based on tehir market research
If I may I recommend youtube channel Midnight's Edge.
Small channel. They have very VERY informative videos about the behind the scenes and overall movie studios politics. Its really good check that out
I am sorry if I may sound crazy
I will vent just couple of things!
I AM TIRED OF:
Kennedy and Disney disrespecting Lucas and Star Wars. They are making up stuff like destiny. Like YOU said. It only proves what Ive been saying. George said SW is like a poem. It rhymes. It s true he was combining the same themes and ideas but imo in very clever and fun way. BUT now SW doesnt rhyme it just repeats

I am tired off all this SJW and feminist agendafemale heroes like Rey, Jyn, Lucy ARE NOT good characters. They are unable to write a believably woman. And I am a man who would do a much better job. That Im telling you
As a gay Im tired of all this need for LGBT characters in SW for example
This whole liberal narrative is shoving stuff down peoples throats! TFA had female lead? The headline was "Finally star Wars isnt sexist!" In case of Finn "SW isnt racist at last!"
I am tired of political correctness. It prevents movies to take some interesting routes and explore characters and story deeper because it could offend someone!
Sorry Im not crazy.just angry
Disney has zero artistic production. ZERO -
porkchopxprss — 9 years ago(October 28, 2016 09:30 PM)
Yeah it's a little like multi-tasking.
Disney has been so secretive about Rogue One that it's one of the most tightly controlled sets I've heard of. Disney is really good at limiting damage to itself, but some things do get out and becomes whispers on the net. From what I've learned Disney did have a test audience watch the film. I don't know why, but from talking to others I share things with, they probably got wind of all the negative comments that were piling up toward it everywhere onlineand what happened to Batman Vs. Superman. After that film got so much negative feedback and didn't do as well as Warner wanted, I'll bet Disney wanted a real test of Rogue in front of a live audience. They still deny they had one arranged to watch the film to test it.
I agree with everything you said. Disney doesn't respect the franchise and all they want is a cash grab and agenda pushing. They're butchering the EU and the Canon isI don't know what to make of it now. They're cherry picking everything from the EU to make these films and if that isn't enough they have to push PC agendas along with it. Politics should never get in the way of art. Pandering isn't respectful to any5b4one it's really condescending and rather insulting. It's shallow and it's like wearing your heart on your leave, type of thing, when people do that, they really don't mean it.
A lot of the blame for the state of Star Wars now lays at Kennedy and her little drones at Lucasfilmbut Disney can't be let off the hook because I've heard that they themselves are the real puppet masters of all this. It's their money and resources that are enabling all of this. -

I think its fair to compare Star Wars to Marvel movies when both are under Disney
dont you? MCU is not 14 movies but it never actually moved forwardit is still the same formula its only getting bigger thats allWhy is that? Why change anything if it makes money. And as long as nostalgia formula will make money, Star Wars will never move forward
Personally the only spin-offs I would be interested in are movies from times of The Old Republic (And I think many many SW fans would go see them 100%) and Ewan McGregors Obi-Wan movie.
Rogue One and Han Solo trilogy I could not be lees excited about. And me NOT being excited about s Star Wars moviethere must be something wrong. I was off the charts hyped for TFA BUT I had my doubts. But thanks to Disney and beep (:D) Im afraid Im not a fan of this new Star Wars. Anyway I think of it more like and ALTERNATIVE universe -
porkchopxprss — 9 years ago(October 29, 2016 08:06 PM)
For a time how Marvel and Disney conducted business was different from each other. For the most part Disney did keep far enough away from how Marvel ran things, but I think that maybe changing. With the announcement of that new SpiderMan Homecoming film, which is supposed to heavy with the SJW elements, things maybe turning for the worse at Marvel and I don't know how that's going to turn out with fans.
The MCU films are getting bigger, no doubt there. Looking at what they're doing with SpiderMan does make me feel uneasy.
Star Wars will nothing but nostalgia cash grabs and agenda pushing from now on. They're too busy pushing the feminist angle in the films to really care about doing anything else. There is so much material they could use but really won'tnot in the way the fans would like. They've thrown the EU into the trash, then started to cherry pick parts of the stories to shoehorn and mix them together like putting into a blender to make these films. That's lazy and will ultimately be the downfall of the entire franchise.
I can't get excited for the new films because they are not Star Wars films. They carry the title, but they lack any of the feel or vibes the Lucas versions had. If they have to remind people with a title like.."A Star Wars Story"right above the name of the fib68lmthat's not a good sign. It's not really a Star Wars film, it's nothing more than a expensive fan film.
I am really finished with Star Wars and that does hurt me, since I have been a lifelong fan, but Disney changed that for me.I don't recognize it anymore. It's a total stranger to me. Now I can't stand it. I loathe it. -
justahero — 9 years ago(October 29, 2016 08:20 PM)
I just agree with you on everything

they use the sjw stuff also to wider the audience and at the same time pander to liberals so if you criticise itwell you know how it ends
I am life long fan too
I love prequels! I grew up with themyes you cant undo some things but those films are so exciting even today and the level of artistic value is beyond beautifulIt was new fresh look at the older era in star wars universe, before the war. George WANTED to bring b16d0eauty into that universe and he succeeded tremendously! The level of imagination! OMG every single design became iconic.
The story? I love it! That the whole time heroes were playing into villains cards? Im sorry I think its briliant! Ian McDiarmid went so crazy in Revenge it is just fun to watch him!
I can say so many great things about what George did with prequels
Of course through time I see the flaws but those in no way ruin the trilogy for me at allThere is just too much good in those movies!
You cant undo Haydens casting plus George is really bad at giving actors directions plus his way of dialogue iswell you know
