Anybody interested in getting him knighted or any british honour, go to http://www.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/ceremonial for a nomination form. The only cost to the nominator is postage. He would be the first Emmerdale cast member to receive any British honour. Just remember that British honours for soaps have been M.B.E.s (MEmber of the British EMpire) and only one person Violet Carson ever received an O.B.E. (Officer of the British Empire). Please do so, he is almost 80 years old and this could be his last chance at getting anything.

thank you Syl. I absolutely adore this man. He has cont2000ributed SO much to the industry for many years and deserves recognition. Forget McCartney and Elton John. He is worth a million of them. He has given a lifetime of joy, fear, terror in his many roles. Lets do it now while he is still with us. Joanne
