Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Freddie Jones

    morganscorpion-1 — 15 years ago(October 05, 2010 04:25 PM)

I know this is a movie discussion board, but I saw Freddie Jones as Sir in The Dresser on the London stage around 30 years ago.
I was gobsmacked to find that he is not only still alive but still acting.
Firstly, he owned the stage. Tom Courtenay barely got a look in.
Secondly, he should have gotten the part of Sir in the movie of the same name. But the more famous Albert Finney got the part instead and didn't have half of the charisma of Mr Jones.
Thirdly, I got his autograph. The man is such a charmer, quite bowled me over. I was 19 and he was much, much older than me. But he could have had me for the asking!
He's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy!
