You're correct. The celebs pretty much set up their price for the autos. Of all the celebs, I think mark hamill was the highest at $80 an auto a couple of years ago at comic-con. The rest are pretty much around $20-25.

It's also their INCOME. A lot of stars supplement their incomes from autographs and convention appearances. And the lesser ones need the money.
Some price hikes have occurred because so many of these celebs see their autographs re-sold by 'speculators' at comic book stores and conventions around the country. I'm sure that they don't like seeing guys make 400% profit off their signatures. If only FANS were getting them, it would be different.
Also a star (even a minor one) has more value to their autograph if it is RARE. Even superstars autographs don't have the value of those who rarely sign autographs. That's the reality of it. -

No, I did not. BTW, I just got back from Comic-Con 07 and oddly neither Sam or Melody Anderson were there signing. I thought it was weird, as the new remastered version of Flash Gordon was coming out 2 weeks after.

My brothers and I grew up with Sam J. Jones aka Jerry to us and he was on the little league baseball team with my brothers, I was best friends with his sister Mary and we new his late brother Joe who died being shot here in Palm Beach by a police officer.
Jerry has overcome a lot of hurdles from his childhood and has been a big success in our eyes and we idolize him here in Palm Beach and think he was incredible in Flash Gordon even though the script sucked! It is definitely a cult film because of it.
I attended his wedding to Lynn in Hollywood California in 1982 and my brand new leather jacket was stolen from a worker at the reception hall but Jerry's quick wit and street smarts located it in two seconds above the employee lockers!
He found God and became a christian and was very big in the martial arts and last I heard he moved to the Long Beach area. I would love to contact him so if anyone reads this and knows how to reach him please have him contact me Lisa Collomb at www.all-starlocations.com
I to work in the film industry as a South Florida Location and Management Company.
Sincerely,
