I think it was Robert Clary who was also imprisoned during WWll. I know at least one of "Hogan's Heroes" was in a Nazi POW camp and I believe it was him. Also Werner Klemperer or his father also.

You are right about Robert Clary, but I don't think either Werner Klemperer or his father were imprisoned. They fled Germany in the 30's in time. WK was in the U.S. army during most of the war. John Banner (Sgt. Schultz), who was also a Jew, had been imprisoned in the 30's for a short time. He was lucky to get out before the Nazi genocide of Jews really began.
Helmut Dantine had been in a concentration camp as a political prisoner the same as Curd Jurgens.

From what I read, Werner Klemperer fled in 1938. Thank goodness he did.

Clary, as a child, was a prisoner in a death camp.

Peter Butterworth was a POW. He was actually one of the vaulters during the 'Wooden Horse' escape, however when he applied to be in the film 'The Wooden Horse' he was turned down because the film makers didn't think he looked heroic and athletic enough.
