Ok. She's friend's with his wife's sister, she played in Jesus' Son (as did JB), she did a short with John C. Reilly who is friends with Black, and the short was written by Mike White, who wrote School of Rock specifically for Jack Black Plus obviously Miranda is a sweetheart and neither are tabloid fodder or bogged down by their celebrity status. Jack Black is probably the nicest guy in mainstream Hollywood, and Miranda July iswell, Miranda July. There are no wordsle sigh.
I'm a huge fan of both, but I don't want to be fans of a$$holes so I thoroughly research every celebrity I may become a fan of before I bother giving them my ducats. And I am seeing parallels here that may have been responsible for some pretty great art. Perhaps John C. Reilly had the part in Miranda's short because of his affiliation with Black.
if Miranda July and jack Black are friends, that makes both of them doubly awesome! I'll say it again- it's important to not be fans of a$$holes. -

I was led to believe that July wrote and starred in it, and White directed it.
I have no evidence to support this, but I also suspect that Miranda July ghost-directed 'Nacho Libre', 'Johnny Skidmarks' and 'Tropic Thunder'. Also, I believe Ms. July will be playing Animal's lover in the new Muppets movie.
