Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Charlie Kaufman

    josh_schenk — 19 years ago(April 16, 2006 12:10 PM)

I'm a Kaufman fan all the way! That boy can write! He's not out to write movies that will make mega bucks. He wants to be different.
The worst writers in Hollywood are the ones who write Remakes. When Remakes are made (and they usually suck) they hurt the original film. The same goes with music.
No writer will ever get famous from writing sequels or remakes.
TO ALL YOU PEOPLE WHO DON'T LIKE CHARLIE - NAME A BETTER ORIGINAL WRITTER!
SEE IF YOU CAN DO IT!

You must be freaking joking. How can hack TV writers compare to the greatest mainstream dramatic writer since Stoppard?

"The greatest mainstream dramatic writer since Stoppard?"
              Really?
Skip away and read some Tony Kushner. Go ahead. I'll be waiting here to say, "You're welcome."

hahahahaha, Srephen J. Cannell? The guy who wrote like 100 episodes of The A-Team? Have you watched that show? It's not exactly Shakespeare.

Only Woody Allen might be considered "better" in my mind.
Even then, Kaufman is more "off the wall."
He's a treasure. I Can't wait for his new film.

Kubrik? He was more of a Director than a writer, almost all of his movies were adapted from novels.
