Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Charlie Kaufman

    KTope — 13 years ago(March 30, 2013 01:03 PM)

One of the very best screen writers of our time is struggling to get movies made on proper budgets because everyone is busy buying tickets for the next Michael Bay movie. Several of his movie have become hits after leaving theaters, yet none of these movie's fans know who the hell he is, or bother looking it up so they can see his next one. Way to go, humans. This is why we can't have anything nice.

It's depressing how unappreciated screenwriters are.

When the cast of The Big Bang Theory demands 1 million an episode and writers don't get nearly that amount, it becomes really depression how unappreciated writers are.

Is Michael Bay even making movies anymore? I haven't heard of a single movie from him in years.

that fact is one that makes me very sad being an artist myself. I mean Michael Bay had no single original idea in his movie life and still his movies are so much more known and requested

Well said, sir. Couldn't agree more. I refuse to support any superhero movies anymore. It's very clear now that they are playing a huge role in mainlining the lions share of dollars in the business. Shame. beep Ironman, beep (ok I did like the Batman reboot), beep Man of Steel, beep Avengers and beep you if you pay money to see those lumbering pieces of beep
