This is a great lecture, especially if you're a writer yourself. Or if you want to learn about humility. Or what being a human being feels like. And stuff.

It was so touching to hear him speak of the hurt he feels when someone speaks ill of his films. How much it hurts to have your work degrated by some moron who wants to hurt your feelings.
NOT because he feels he's such a great artist or because it hurts his big ego, but because the work is himself, his work is putting his Self into the world, bearing his soul.
I'm also glad that unlike Solondz and Woody Allen, he does not put on the overly-neurotic, self-deprecating, self-hating, I'm nobody-spiel. He knows what he does it important, because anything done from the heart is important.
