      Thanks all.
I agree 100% with every title on your lists. So far, seems as if only kittencat2 (and me too) included Clouds as a favorite.
Indeed one of my favorite Chaka tunes.
      Peace.

I can't believe that no-one is mentioning 'Sweet Thing'! IMHO that is Chaka's best song!

Hey PCL i just noticed that it looks like nobody has mentioned 'i know you, i live you' yet so you can probably throw that in with all my through the fires that i put in. Otherwise i reckon pretty much all these lists are spot on.

Hey DC. So glad to hear from you and you may not believe this, but I am listening to Chaka's album entiltled Naughty as I type this out and submit it!!!!!
                        Talk about a coinkiedink!!!????!!
                        Wow!
I listened to 'I know you , I love you' after reading your post. This was one of her upbeat tunes. Not one of my favs but a nice, positive piece all the same.
I love her ballads the best though. Listened to Clouds a few minutes ago. I still get goosebumps over that bass line!
You are right about the list. I think all of the 'goodies' have been listed, but you never
know. Someone may remind us of yet another!

Wow Mike! You have excellent taste!!!!
Her voice is pure silk in the Got To Be There remake and I love the piano intro in Pack'D My Bags (Rufusized right?) Nice! I've always liked Move Me No Mountain (Naughty) for those nice chord progessions but I don't seem to have Any Old Sunday. I'm sure I will recall it the split second I hear it. The title alone is so familiar.
Thanks so much for your post!

"Any Old Sunday" is the fourth cut on the LP/CD, "Wha Cha Gonna Do For Me" (1981)
I feel her cover of "Got To Be There" kind of tops the Jackson Five's version.
I could also list other favorites:
                                      "I'm A Woman (I'm A Backbone)"
                                      "Feel Good"
                                      "Night In Tunisia"
                                      "Clouds"
                                      "You Got The Love"
"Please Pardon Me (You Remind Me Of A Friend)"
                                      "Your Smile"
                                      "Swing Down Chariot"
                                      "Some Love"
"All Night's All Right" (Love this one!)
"Love Has Fallen On Me" (chills)
                                      oopsalmost forgot:
                                      "Chanson Papillon (Hot Butterfly)" (sublime)
The list goes on and on
For me, Chaka's singing elicits such intense feelings of emotion, and had a primal, almost sexual and certainly spiritual energy in these recordings. Aside from that great, great voice, her phrasing and the way she expressed the lyrics were so artistic. She gave life, color, nuance and meaning to those words and thoughts. I feel it was something subconscious, that she simply communicated these songs instinctively without a lot of studied thought. I obviously do not know, but sense this from repeated listenings. Astrologically, her Mercury is placed in the sign of Pisces, so there is incredible depth and even mystery in her communication through song; the quest to give complete thought to a song. (I believe she made a statement along these lines in a past interview. She looks for a complete thought.)
Blessings to Chaka for sharing with us her tremendous gifts***
Thank you so much; Be well***
