Wow Mike! You have excellent taste!!!!
Her voice is pure silk in the Got To Be There remake and I love the piano intro in Pack'D My Bags (Rufusized right?) Nice! I've always liked Move Me No Mountain (Naughty) for those nice chord progessions but I don't seem to have Any Old Sunday. I'm sure I will recall it the split second I hear it. The title alone is so familiar.
Thanks so much for your post!

"Any Old Sunday" is the fourth cut on the LP/CD, "Wha Cha Gonna Do For Me" (1981)
I feel her cover of "Got To Be There" kind of tops the Jackson Five's version.
I could also list other favorites:
"I'm A Woman (I'm A Backbone)"
"Feel Good"
"Night In Tunisia"
"Clouds"
"You Got The Love"
"Please Pardon Me (You Remind Me Of A Friend)"
"Your Smile"
"Swing Down Chariot"
"Some Love"
"All Night's All Right" (Love this one!)
"Love Has Fallen On Me" (chills)
oopsalmost forgot:
"Chanson Papillon (Hot Butterfly)" (sublime)
The list goes on and on
For me, Chaka's singing elicits such intense feelings of emotion, and had a primal, almost sexual and certainly spiritual energy in these recordings. Aside from that great, great voice, her phrasing and the way she expressed the lyrics were so artistic. She gave life, color, nuance and meaning to those words and thoughts. I feel it was something subconscious, that she simply communicated these songs instinctively without a lot of studied thought. I obviously do not know, but sense this from repeated listenings. Astrologically, her Mercury is placed in the sign of Pisces, so there is incredible depth and even mystery in her communication through song; the quest to give complete thought to a song. (I believe she made a statement along these lines in a past interview. She looks for a complete thought.)
Blessings to Chaka for sharing with us her tremendous gifts***
Thank you so much; Be well*** -

PCL! Good to hear from you again!
I'm doing ok how about you?
I had Chaka on in the car last week and my friend insisted i change CDs, I told him plain and simple that he sit and listen to Chaka or walk. Not sure if he's a fan of her now but I stand by my actions!
Hope you are well, Doc Clutch. -

Hey Doc! Great to hear from you too! I was wondering where you've been and I am doing so much better! I have totally changed my diet! Lost 30 pounds!!
I feel fantastic and I'm so glad to know that you are doing great too!
I just
had
to sneak in that cyber hug to ya!
OMG! That was too funny about your friend in your car!! LOVE IT!!!!
I am going to have to quote your exact words the next time this happens to me.
I haven't visited this board in a while but there seems to be some really nice posters here because some other boards are just a mess. I'm glad her board has such nice fans, but then again, we true to heart musicians/music lovers (well a lot of us..) are cool anyway, huh?
